BANFF BY NIGHT (in 4K)
I present a 3-minute music video featuring new time-lapses shot in Banff National Park, Alberta, in July 2018, along with some older sequences shot from 2011 to 2016.
The movie is edited and rendered in 4K resolution, but maintains the original 3:2 aspect ratio of the DSLR camera frame.
The older sequences, a couple of which I have used in earlier videos, have been re-processed. All image processing was with Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Bridge, LRTimelapse, and assembly with TLDF, often with its frame-averaging option for slight frame blending.
Locations are all viewpoints and scenic sites well-known by day, but here presented with the Moon, stars, and Milky Way by night.
Locations include (in order of appearance): • Vermilion Lakes (for a wonderful Full Moon rise) • Two Jack Lake • Waterfowl Lakes (Icefields Parkway) • Lake Louise • Peyto Lake (Icefields Parkway) • Storm Mountain Viewpoint (Bow Valley Parkway) • Moraine Lake • Bow Lake (Icefields Parkway) • Lake Herbert (Icefields Parkway) • Mt. Norquay
The aurora sequence is from August 31, 2016, shot from Moraine Lake, looking north over Desolation Valley.
Cameras employed ranged from an old Canon 7D and 5D MkII, to the current Canon 6D MkII, Nikon D750 and Sony a7III. I employed an eMotimo TB3 pan-tilt device for the one motion control sequence at Waterfowl Lakes. I shot all other sequences with static cameras.
The music, a new piece entitled "Inspiring Innovation," is by Adi Goldstein (AGSoundtrax.com)
