Camping in the Norwegian summer. It won't be long before this landscape is again frozen for the long northern winter.
Fishing Cone Geyser Yellowstone National Park is home to one of the largest geyser fields in the world and many of these geysers tell an interesting historical story. This one, Fishing Cone Geyser, is one of a few unique geysers around the world used for culinary endeavors. Fishing Cone Geyser is now seasonally submerged beneath Yellowstone Lake, but when it was first discovered the water level of the lake was lower and the cone protruded above the surface. Early visitors to the park would perch on the geyser’s cone, throw their fishing lines in the lake, and then throw their catch into the geyser. Bon appetit—instantly boiled fish. We hope your mouth isn’t watering for geyser-boiled fish, though; the practice was prohibited in 1912. -CM Photo Credit: manufrakass http://bit.ly/1H92cNc

The Eagle Show with @biganimalencounters . Never before have I seen anything quite on the scale of “The Eagle Show” which I witnessed a few days ago off of Vancouver Island. Once a day in a secret passage two currents collide creating a natural phenomenon of epic proportions. One current pushes the other current up from the bottom with such force that any small fish in the area is rocketed up to the surface, then held there unable to go back down. Hundreds of bald eagles have caught wind of the phenomenon, and essentially form an eaglenado of roughly 200 birds for less than an hour of intense feeding right around tide change. Other animals including giant lingcod also take part in the daily feast. I snagged a few shots of the eagles snagging fish, including this one. If you are ever looking for something special and unique while visiting Vancouver Island definitely check out @biganimalencounters . Follow @williamdrumm

A short film shot during a 2-week road trip to Iceland with a friend of mine. No matter how much you prepare yourself, Iceland will always surprise you with its raw beauty. Powerful mother nature doesn't fail to impress either. Enjoy!

Back in January, our research biologists came across this octopus when pulling up a stone crab trap in Cedar Key. Octopus can get in and out of the traps easily and depending on region and time of year, it’s not uncommon to find an octopus in a stone crab trap enjoying a meal!

Great Blue Heron catching and successfully swallowing a large Carp. It took about three minutes but I condensed the video down to 1 minute with the highlights. It held the fish in its mouth pinned against the ice for a long time it really didn't want the eagles to steal it! For other videos from this day see

Fog This photo was taken by a couple fishermen out on Lake Michigan, as they saw a wall of fog approaching them. It took several minutes but it eventually passed over them, surrounding them and forcing them to use their GPS systems to navigate out.
