Georgia is a country situated between Europe and Asia with rich history, known also for its quality liquor and wine. These were not the main reasons which lead us here. It was all about the Caucasus, majestic mountain range on the border with Russia which is poorly inhabited and where you can still find true wilderness. As there are many trails used by horses in these mountains, you can also find great opportunities for mountain biking here. This short documentary displays a bikepacking trip of four friends across part of the Great Caucasus. The Caucasus tested our strength and physical condition, but on the other hand it showed us beautiful nature and people willing to help. In combination with biking on exceptional but out-of-the-way trails, we have great memories to remember...

Kazbegi National Park is an area of absolutely outstanding natural beauty, from the majestic Mount Kazbek to the crystal clear waters of the Juta valley. A mere three hour drive from Georgian capital, Tblisi, the town of Stepandsminda, overlooked by the awe-inspiring vistas of both the Gergeti Trinity Church and mighty Mount Kazbek, a visit in the summer months is as impressive and rejuvenating as one to enjoy the snow in winter. It also turns out to be a trail runners dream-come-true, with a wealth of technical paths, varying gradients and breathtaking views all around. I headed up to Kazbegi for a week of fresh mountain air, epic running and world-famous Georgian hospitality, as I prepared for an upcoming 100-mile ultramarathon. I was privileged to get to stay at the amazing Rusudani guesthouse, where I was fed like a king and met some truly wonderful people.

Turn up the volume!Traveling Georgia has got to be one of my favorite experiences so far. To start our journey here, as digital nomads, turned out to be the best decision. The country surprised us in its beauty, in its flavors, and mostly in its amazing people and interesting culture. I can’t wait to see more of what else this place has to offer in the two weeks we have left. The first episode was shot on a four-day trek between Mestia to Ushguli in the Svaneti region of Georgia. I decided to make the first video with a few words and a lot of visuals of mountains, animals, rivers, and snow - to show how it really is.I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it. I would appreciate a like, share, and subscribe to help spread the beauty of this world :-)Facebook page - facebook.com/odysseystory Instagram - instagram.com/odysseystory_/ YouTube - http://bit.ly/odysseystoryGear : PANASONIC LUMIX GH5S PANASONIC LUMIX Professional 12-35mm G X VARIO II, F2.8 ASPH Panasonic H-HSA35100 F2.8 II ASPH 35-100mm Ronin-S Rode VideoMic Pro PLUS DJI MAVIC AIR

Clouds over mount Elbruz Nebulosity, both near and far, is hanging in the skies above the tallest peak in the Caucasus. Condensed moisture is creeping up the flanks of the mountains and bleeding over the edge as the atmosphere cools during the night or a layer of moister warmer air passes over the relief. The observatory in the foreground is the Peak Terskol Observatory boasting a 2 metre telescope located on Elbruz's flanks. High above towers the plane of our galactic home amidst speckled foreground stars, the milky way, a sight that always makes goosebumps stand up on my skin. This video only shows a fraction of the amazing experience I had visiting the country of Georgia this past October // The people - the culture - the food - the wine - the countless historical sites and monuments - and of course, the breathtaking views up in the mountains // I am thankful for this trip, for the time I spent there, and for the great people I met there.
The locations featured in this video (in no particular order) are: Old Tbilisi (Narikala), Rabati Castle, Sapara Monastery, Mtskheta, Gergeti, Gudauri, Juta, Ananuri.
There is plenty more to see in Georgia, notably the Black Sea and Batumi, and those are on my list for next time :)

Here's new "Outback Trip" story about RideThePlanet team journeys to various mountain regions this year. From February to October we've drove around 25 000 km in our Subaru Outback. It took us to Caucasus areas, such as coastal Abkhazia, to Arctic Norway and Alps. This short film has the essence of that trips. Thanks to Subaru for supporting the project for 6th year, giving us best transport to cover the distances for desired destinations, and to move around there freely and safe. This short is published in 4K quality. Enjoy!
