“On paper we’d come in search of the biggest ski lines of our lives. But the reality was that we simply had come to celebrate friendship. To withdraw into the wild, to remove distractions and cell service and emails, and to invest purposeful time into being together. I guess that’s the real meaning of a bachelor party."

Recapturing some of my favourite moments this year, travel with me to Mexico, West Virginia and the Ottawa Valley for some water falling, free styling, and booferoni sandwiches! In reflecting, this was a year full of creeking and boofs and progression in the vertical category. Big thanks to friends and family for supporting and encouraging my urge for adventure and exploration! Enjoy the waterfalls, steep rapids, and occasional surprises in this edit!
This past season also marked a significant partnership with some of the highest quality, handmade Canadian shred sticks available as I joined forces with Echo Paddles to design, test and build their new kayak paddles. Borrowing from over 20 years of canoe paddle building experience, we spent months building, testing and tweaking these blades to deliver strong, lightweight, responsive and beautiful wood-composite paddles, and we're super stoked on how things turned out with paddles in stock for the 2019 season. To learn more about these handmade beauties and how to get one in your hands, drop me a line at [email protected] and don't forget to visit our website at echopaddles.com. We'd love to get one in your hands and see what you think, with a wide variety of demos available in both bent and straight shafts to satisfy your specific paddling needs.
Another big thanks to my sponsors Paddler Co-op - a not-for-profit whitewater school and community, and Echo Paddles for helping to get to the events and rivers, and paddle some serious water with confidence. If you'd like an enthusiastic, energetic and adventurous individual to represent your product or brand in Eastern Canada and abroad, I'd love to open a discussion as to how we can work together to promote something good.
Enjoy the show!

Starting in an area that once led to the Lost Incan City of Gold and ending at the soaring mountain-top Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, this expedition takes you from the white crowns of the Andes to the raucous, green symphony of the Amazon Jungle.
This recently discovered whitewater gem has over 100 class 3 and 4 rapids, for paddle rafting and inflatable kayaking. Two of Peru's grandest marvels, the Sacred Pongo Mainique Canyon and Machu Picchu are part of the journey. In terms of biological diversity, native culture, weather, scenery and whitewater, this Peruvian gem stands alone in the world of river-based adventure travel.

The gorgeous videos of the Skyglow project take you to the inner gorge of the Grand Canyon, where you can watch the sun go down, weather roll in, and the stars come out. Original caption:

Millions of visitors come to Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and the most visited national park in the western United States. However, very few ever get to experience the Grand Canyon by way of the Colorado River. Stretching from Lees Ferry at Marble Canyon, AZ, through the inner gorge graced with geology dating as far back as 1.8 billion years, all the way to Diamond Creek, just before the river gives way to Lake Mead, these spectacular 225 miles of whitewater rafting are only accessible by guided commercial motor trips and private rafting permits. Although over 6M visitors come to the Grand Canyon every year, only a small fraction gets permission to raft the river, mainly during the late Spring, Summer and early Fall months.
Production of this video was made possible by a commercial rafting partner Grand Canyon Whitewater, check them out at grandcanyonwhitewater.com!
