Huge chunky crinoid from the Jurassic Coast of Dorset 🇬🇧 The piece on the left I found on Christmas Eve🎄on the right, a piece I found a couple of days ago. Incredibly these two pieces fit perfectly. Well preserved crinoid displays incredibly delicate detail that is rapidly destroyed by the sea, if these marvels of nature aren’t collected once exposed, they are soon lost forever!

Reblogging back to the top after Tumblr flagged this as pornography and fully blocked the post while I was sleeping so that I couldn’t immediately appeal. The good news is - they haven’t improved their algorithm at all over the last 2 weeks, so we get to play the “Fossil corals are pornographic” game for many weeks to come! At least until they ban every single blog on their network since their algorithm is this bad.
