Scientists simulate dense and dilute pyroclastic currents flowing down Indonesia’s Merapi volcano during its 5 November 2010 eruption. The concentrated block-and-ash flow is in red, the dilute ash-cloud surge is in blue. Yellow to green colors and contour lines are the thickness of surge deposits. Time is sped up: one second in the video represents 50 seconds in reality.
This new model, which simulates the behavior of surging ash clouds, may help scientists to better predict the hazards associated with the deadliest type of volcanic flows.

averill_lowell The Dieng Plateau is a huge volcanic complex near the pleasant town of Wonosobo. The highest mountain in the Dieng area is called Mount Prau. Mt. Prau is long and quite flat on the top (2.565msl). We can almost see all top mountains in Central Java from this level, like Mt. Sumbing, Mt. Sindoro, Mt. Slamet, Mt. Merapi, Mt. Merbabu and many more.

Such a gorgeous shot of Merapi and the crater on top. Merapi is the most active volcano in Indonesia and is literally called "Fire Mountain” if the language is translated. Even when not erupting there is usually steam degassing from the top of the cone, as I think you can see here. You can also spot pyroclastic flow trails coming down the slopes.
