Cherry Blossom Moat In Okinawa, Japan, around January, the annual blooming of the cherry blossom begins. This wildly popular cultural event draws people from near and far to witness the wonder of cherry trees in blossom all over the country. This image shows the moat of Hirosaki Castle covered with a sheet of undisturbed cherry blossom petals.
