i'm so obsessed with brennan's interpretation of charisma for an extremely autistic-coded character being that evan gives up the anxiety about fitting in, he stops masking, and instead he leans into his blunt, matter-of-fact nature, and that serves him SO MUCH BETTER in social situations than constantly apologizing for being different

Whether Lou is playing a man in his 50s from NY or a 21 year old he will make community feel so warm, welcoming and wholesome. Really makes you want to live in a world where a Lou Wilson character looks at you and claims you as part of his community.

It's really crazy because even playing a very lonely rich kid he's still throwing the motif of community around. From Fabian secretly buying gifts to his friends in freshman year to making his house into a comfortable student hang out spot in junior year only to not feel alone anymore, Lou's characters are always tied to community to a degree, what changes are the motivations behind those ties

increasingly convinced that "main character syndrome" has lost all meaning when we're talking about Actual Play shows.

it used to mean people like Orion Acaba from Critical Role who was notoriously poor at giving other players room to breathe and tell a collective story, to the point of his character being written out of the Amazon show because he sucked so bad.

these days it seems to be used for people like Ally Beardsley, who, while not without flaws in their playstyle and attitude to roleplay, is nothing like as bad as Orion, or Brennan Lee Mulligan himself in Misfits & Magic, whose PC is explicitly supposed to be a dark Tom Riddle figure trying his best to do right.

like at a certain point it just becomes "UGH why is this person acting like a PROTAGONIST in a STORY in which they PLAY a PROTAGONIST"

working on an animatic for a scene at seacaster manor from freshman year so i wanted to sketch the family! still have to figure out red waste soldiers and harvestmen designs but here they are!!

I'm watching Dimension 20's Fantasy High, Season 1, and I already love some of the small details.

Adaine doesn't have great parents, and one of the ways this is shown is Adaine pointing out that her parents don't even know if she needs to take a bus to get to her new school, and they tell her to figure out how to get to school herself.

Then, when Riz Gukgak's mom is shown later, the DM (Brennan Lee Mulligan) makes sure to show that Riz's mom is a good mom, and one of the ways he shows this is by having Riz' mom ask her son "Are you all set to catch the bus?". She's super tired and plans to go to sleep, but she makes sure her son knows how to get to the bus and go to school first.
