digidestined's fanon birthdays

so i saw a lot of taichi's fanart on twitter, mostly from japanese artists, wishing him a happy birthday a few days ago, and i thought: "...wait, i thought we don't have official birthday for these kids?"

and indeed we don't. however, i found a list of fanon birthdays which seems quite popular in japan. once again, i have to emphasise that these are not canon. the closest information we have are 1) sora's birthday is somewhere before summer (our war game), and; 2) miyako is a gemini. if you see the below list, their birthdays are FAR from that, which confirms that this isn't official stuff.

but hey, if you love to join the celebration by making birthday fanart, this will do! and if you are like me who loves writing in detail yet lacking the creativity to assign birthdays, this information can be useful too.

digidestined inception au taichi as the extractor ∙ yamato as the point man ∙ koushiro as the architect ∙ takeru as the forger ∙ jyou as the chemist ∙ mimi as the tourist ∙ sora as the mark ∙ hikari as the shade

along with his comrade yamato ishida, taichi yagami was an extractor, who had the ability to steal someone else’s secret through a shared dream world. mimi tachikawa, a successful businesswoman, wanted taichi and yamato to do a job that seemed impossible: to implant an idea in the subconscious of her rival, sora takenouchi, so that sora would dissolve her mother’s company that had been a long competitor of the tachikawa industry.

to perform this job, taichi and yamato assembled a team. koushiro, a genius technician with the ability to build a dream’s labyrinth. takeru, yamato’s manipulative estranged brother with the ability to forge identity. jyou, a medical expert who was also the creator of the infamous dream sedative.

however, the obstacle came in the form of taichi’s subconscious: hikari, his little sister who had died believing she was still dreaming after taichi took him to the dream world. would the team be able to finish the mission?

i remember reading somewhere on the internet a long time ago; a certain someone asked, “is takato’s teacher hikari?”

the answer was certainly not (probably anon mistook nami-sensei’s hair that was similar to teacher!hikari) but holy heck imagine that hikari’s actually the teacher.

well if we want to be canon-compliance, we know that hikari actually had a son instead of daughter. but hmm...

also, a bit of explanation from @uniarycode​ regarding the hikari stuff:

In the English dub the teacher has the same Voice Actor as Hikari, I believe as a nod to Hikari saying she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. It sparked a lot of theorycrafting.
