diversity of tactics is the most under utilized argument or underpinning common point of solidarity (looking at you, peeps who want unity) for resistance/ alternative action outside of dominant accepted political process. libs and fucks will recruit people and build capacity against resistance to capitalism and empire, even criminalizing people who resist and apologizing for the police. it's not about evading critique but about opening up and expanding /challenging the dominant ideas of acceptable or appropriate tactics. aka diversity of tactics/ deviating from pacifism/ usually *unfortunately* still nonviolence, but agitating the narrative of what violence is. accountability is important but to whom? who speaks for the community? who represents it? oppressed communities are not homogenous tactically and are usually subordinated back to a liberal bottom line of passive appeal. why is tactical escalation always discredited as tactics taken by white males? or racist state rhetoric of *outside agitators*? if you think agitating and risking arrest is useless, or de-arresting someone, or blocking arrests, or taking streets / whatevs sometimes you get targeted for some stupid shit! that's cool don't do it then but those actions aren't exactly exclusive of a broader long term strategy. and people immediately question the tactics, strategy or intent of people who end up involved in any sort of disruption. so since that is the dominant tendency i think it's necessary for us to counteract that in ways that solidify our own intent/affinity and make us prepared for repression (both by the state and by liberal or institutional organizations for change) reform utilizes and recuperates more direct agitational tactics for its own gain at the expense of the people who are resisting directly. it benefits from #diversityoftactics. DoT means bottom line you don't criminalize people whose tactics you disagree with. you are not complicit in state terrorism against people who are resisting regardless of whether you support their tactics or strategy. also sorry if i'm not crying about critiques of syndicalism or mainstream labor reform or reform in general which is not just a tactic but the dominant violently enforced process of change that excludes and reassigns power up the hierarchy
