we can recognize that police brutality is bad in like dystopian novels like the hunger games for example people recognize that the peacekeepers are an oppressive force but when its happening in real life to real people its always “not all cops are bad” because they only target people our society doesnt view as fully human like people of color, trans people, disabled people, poor people, and sex workers
does anyone have suggestions on literature about gangs in communities, gang injunctions, and policing tactics to enforce gentrification ? a zine? i mean i have the aclu shit..
"This picture was taken at the #FuckColumbus Anti-Capitalist Anti-Colonial March in San Francisco last year... there is a little hope for us all yet. But until we stop giving the police the power to abuse us is there any chance they will ALL just stop doing it? Is the problem the abuse of power... or having the power to abuse? NO JUSTICE ~ NO PEACE ~ FUCK THE POLICE!!! ♥ Ⓐ"
This alert comes from Santa Anna Copwatch's FaceBook Page Santa Ana cops brutalized and arrested some of us in Copwatch last night. We were walking by where main and the 5 meet right after we had recorded cop activity when we noticed 2 cop cars stalking us. They stopped us took our cameras and began
no such thing as state 'justice'
forced unity is pretend unity, liberalism silences people with different tactics and supports their criminalization to preserve the consumer based image of ‘activism’ that preserves the status quo
“but this is a family friendly march, we are non violent!”
well..
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU BEING ESCORTED BY PIGS WITH GUNS AND TANKS THEN??
It´s more likely to get arrested for being brown, queer or trans than for rape and people are still saying the cops and the government are defending us…
Yeah maybe if you´re a suburban white cis male they are
the thing about “good cops” is that their existence literally does not matter while there are still cops who brutalize and murder minorities. oppressed groups can’t afford to be nice to every cop they meet just to avoid hurting your dad’s feeling when the risk of doing so is getting their head cracked against a concrete wall for “resisting arrest”
the dominant narrative: whenever anyone in a police or military uniform does a good thing, it’s upheld as an example of the inherent selflessness that defines their career. whenever anyone in a police or military uniform does a bad thing, it’s dismissed as an individual personality defect.
I can't believe these fuckers, inciting a riot and then saying motions in court should be denied cause it was a riot. It was a fucking aseembly of twenty five people across the street from some fuckedup bourgeois event and the police fucking attacked us as soon as the doors closed. They always incite to justify use of force and to get people trumped up on false charges. Fucking glaring so hard at these pigs right now. The prosecution said "it was not a calm situation, it was a riot". Of course, we can't help but laugh. Because oppression and orchestrated justice is absurd.
