So fucking many of you see something occassionally be used as a buzzword and come to a conclusion that it inherently is nothing but a buzzword. And then sometimes make half of your entire posting about it.
Being severely disabled is fucking terrifying
I am a cane user who desperately needs to be a wheelchair user instead and the next time I see "non wheelchair user" being equated to "abled"/"able-bodied" I am beating you with my cane to death.

Fuck you to everyone who made me feel like I cannot identify as heartless because I'm not loveless.

I am the severely disabled person they *didn't* warn you about because they erase our existence.
"They" meaning pretty much everyone who is low support needs, does not suffer a lot from their disability directly, has more problems with others assuming they cannot do things they can do than with not being able to do things, etc.
Never ask a woman her age, a man his salary, and someone with a "DNI if you eroticize any kind of abuse" why is there no sexual abuse warning on their fic about sexual abuse
Never ask a woman her age, a man his salary, and someone who thinks shipping abuse is immoral/unethical — their opinion on a canonical abusive dynamic or that one AU ship of theirs or
“Not every disability in the nervous system is neurological” is the most fucking possibly nonsensical take that could exist in the disability discourse and yet it exists and big bloggers and bloggers I used to admire talk it
TRANS MEN ARE NOT THE ONLY KIND OF TRANS PEOPLE WHO WERE AFAB / ALL THINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THAT. TRANS WOMEN ARE NOT THE ONLY KIND OF TRANS PEOPLE WHO WERE AMAB / ALL THINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THAT.
I HATE THE PURELY-SOCIAL MODEL OF DISABILITY DIE A THOUSAND DEATHS
"Help these people, because the people harming them will also come for you" shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up
Help because they are being harmed not because you might also get
"Disability is not evil" my disability is. I am being tortured and imprisoned. The cure narrative is an attempt to drop a bomb on my prison and bury me with it, not to free me. The social model is an insistence that if only I were treated better by the guards and if the society did not think of the prisoner status as lower I would not mind being tortured and imprisoned.
If you do not mind your disability — congratulations, genuinely. Now stop shutting those of us who do up.
(this is not specifically about the line the post started with, it’s about many other things including individuals saying that disabled suffering is only ever an ableist stereotype)

A less venty and metaphorical post on this where I also talk more about the inherent ableism of the cure narrative towards those who would actually like to be cured too: https://tumblr.com/dyspunktional-leviathan/715674903692673024/
thinking about everyone with medical conditions doing their damnedest to avoid covid while living with people who could not give less of a shit about getting themselves and other people sick. you're not alone and you deserve better.

[Plaintext: Oh god thank you]
I had my mother talk cheerfully talk about covid just being a few days of feeling a bit bad across the table from me using my cane to stand because the last time I had covid it fucked my legs up (didn’t use a mobility aid before, although have been thinking about getting one, but now I need it always). And that was the *fourth* time I had covid, the previous ones fucked me too. Chronic fever, fucking brain damage, and that, but sure, just a few days of feeling a bit bad!! And literally fucking everyone in our family is majorly disabled! But apparently I’m the most medically vulnerable, and they don’t give a fuck about it. Other illnesses too, not just covid, several months ago I got more disabled after an illness that was not covid, and now I’m having a third illness since that one after literally not having left the home since the first one. I *need* to get out of here somehow.
Ah yes, the famously politically influential group in r//ssia, queer activists.
Celebrated this year’s disability pride month by becoming more disabled.
