i think doctor who should keep up the running gag of companions running off with random men, but it should apply this as equally to male companions as female. damn it all doctor what do you mean when you say my most incompetent lieutenant has fallen madly in love with a time lord called spiders georg and you, quote, "simply could not stop the poor lad, nor stand in the way of true love"

I know i already made this post but tumblr search is a bitch. starting to think I might gain an untenable amount of nickels if i got one every time a big finish story included a train which through some temporal fuckery rams itself. and everyone on it is fine.

I very much understand why the doctorwho portrayers need to be grade a++ actors first and foremost but its always so fun when they cast someone with Extra Skills. by which i mostly mean i ADORE it when the doctor is a musician its so correct to the character to bring your real instrument in there, but also, shout out to whatever mr sylvester mccoy was up to. in this house we respect his clown diploma and what not

i like the idea that leela's speaking gallifreyan in the gallifrey audios, as are the time lords, because it means whenever romana or brax use a weird human idiom, they're not just using an idiom that makes no sense culturally. they're literally translating human idioms word to word and for this reason they sound totally bizarre to literally anyone else on the planet

leela tries to explain idioms like "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" to narvin only to realise that 1) she doesn't know the gallifreyan word for horse 2) narvin doesn't know what a horse is and 3) the word romana's been using to translate horse means something like "morons on the high council"

In the store room, the eerie doctor betrays the maid. And even now, vines like nerves slither in the pattern on the peeling wallpaper.

Think I'm having a pretty different experience w this season of Dr who was someone who's watched all of classic who & also consumed a lot of EU content. Expanded universe stuff in particular does sometimes go full 'here's some weird shit. Good night.' 73 Yards was unusual for TV who but I can think of some equally weird Dr who short stories u know?

Also like. It was literally already TV canon that fairies exist. They were in Torchwood. There was no 'oh these guys are actually aliens' curtain drop they were just fairies. Have we all forgotten so quickly...

TO BE CLEAR this isn't a criticism of the show, i just think the difference in the way ppl are reacting to this arc is interesting? was talking to a friend of mine who said a family member they'd watched it with had asked why there are 'gods running around suddenly' and from a classic who perspective its like well there's always been gods.

you see the thing is. this is not "the doctor is surprised hes queer". he knows he is percieved as queer in human eyes. hes always known that. 12 says it outright too this is NOT news to them as a person in general. the news is that he says his feelings out loud now. like with "i loved her". because 10 absolutely would not let anyone know what hes feeling and thinking and this is 10-reprise. its literally laid out so clearly

Being a gallifrey fan is so funny because like there’s this guy and he’s a jerk and mean to the characters you like and definitely deserves to be punched and then it’s a few seasons later and suddenly you would die for him

Realized that probably not everyone reads the image descriptions, so: this is Yayani, originally from the short story Lords and Masters — in the Higginsverse, a fanon created by @space-glasgow and coauthored by me. In the middle of the Gallifeyan Civil War.

I had planned for this to be a full painting, but this was when I had just began changing how I work and how I think about how I work. So this had been lying in my WIP folder all these months, but lately I began thinking that it could be good to post this just like this, and I have finally gotten to it.

I then got stuck at a bit in description, thank you again to the People’s Accessibility server for helping me out.
