Edit: Now with an ID from @a-captions-blog! Thank you for writing it!

[Art description: A Pokémon-themed comic featuring OP as a Pikachu. Long description follows.

1. The tips of Pikachu’s ears are shown with text that says, ‘I’m a Pikachu / My world is filled with lots of cool stuff. Sometimes it feels like anything is possible!’ Under this is a collage showing a Charizard, a Pidgeotto, a Nidoking, an Eevee, and an Ivysaur, all in the background as the Pikachu looks up in wonder. Text reads, ‘All sorts of types, all sorts of attacks, all sorts of Pokemon.’

2. Text says, ‘But...only two ways a Pikachu’s tail could look.’ Two boxes in the upper corners show the male and female Pikachu tails, respectively. The male has a rectangular end to his tale, and the female has a heart-shaped end to hers. Text continues, ‘So then, what am I?’ A large drawing of the narrator Pikachu is shown, with an arrow pointing to their tail, whose end is split somewhat like scissors and doesn’t match either the male or female drawing above.

3. Text says, ‘Too pointy to be [female], too much of a V-shape to be [male]. I thought there was something wrong with me.’ Under this are three cascading panels showing the Pikachu from below at an angle emphasizing their tail. The second panel shows mel further away, and in the final panel she have disappeared entirely. Text on the panels reads, ‘I felt / very, very, very / alone.’

4. Text says, ‘But then, something happened. I found others like me.’ The art shows the narrator reaching out to another Pikachu. Under this are three other Pikachu. One has a rounded tail, one has a tail that has been stitched up to be rectangular, and one has a tail with a slight spike at the tip.

5. Closeups are shown of each of the tails from the previous panel, with text that says, ‘Round tails, scarred tails, spiky tails.’ Under this is a drawing of the Pikachu all hugging with lightning coming from their cheeks. Text reads, ‘They told me nothing was wrong with me, and I wasn´t alone anymore.’

6. Text says, ‘There are many ways a Pikachu’s tail can look. I’ve heard there’s at least over 30 different variations.’ Under this are two panels. The first panel shows the narrator lying on their back on a background of male and female symbols. Text reads, ‘Some days are still hard.’ In the second panel, the Pikachu with the scarred tail is shown with text that says, ‘My friend tells me her tail used to look just like mine. It was taken from her.’

8. The narrator is shown sitting and looking upwards. Text reads, ‘Some trainers won’t accept Pikachu that aren’t [male] or [female]. They alter our tails without our consent. But things are getting better. We are making change. We’re fighting so that our tails will be left alone.’ Under this is a panel showing the four Pikachu running happily towards the right. Text reads, ‘We’re all on a spectrum. Every tail looks different; anything is possible.’

The final text reads, ‘This is a comic about intersex people.’ The watermark in the lower right says @ PostManic. \End descriptions

It's everywhere

There's also it's more 'diverse' fandom twin

[ID 1: drawing of four non-descript characters smiling lined up, three of them have pale skin while one has brown skin and a more mischievous expression, the characters has text pointed to them reading “that one character that gets the melanin because they’re angry/agressive” End ID]

[ID 2: drawing of four non-descript characters lined up, three of them have varied brown skin and expressions while one has pale skin and a more calm smile, the characters has text pointed to them reading “that one character that gets less of the melanin because they’re passive/calm/fancier” End ID]

Chekov's Cat: if you see a cat in the first act, it will probably be relevant later. (example: Alien)

Shrodinger's razor: an unopened box may or may not contain the solution to the story; there's no way to know without opening it. (example: Monk)

Occam's gun: the simplest way to kill off a character is to shoot them. (example: Bambi)

i have been cracking up at this for the past 3 minutes

Chekov's Box: If there is a container introduced in the opening act, it will be opened later.

Schrodinger's Gun: Treat every gun as if it's loaded unless you've checked it yourself.

Occam's Cat: If you hear strange noises at night, it's probably a cat.

[Image description:

Three photos from a printed book, with almost all of the text in them blacked out, resulting in the only visible text reading: "Chekhov's cat", "Schrödinger's razor", "Occam's gun"

I… dont want to do that? I know what happened what good does it do

Very often lately i’ve been thinking of the james baldwin(?) quote (i can’t find it at the moment so i will summarize it) where he basically says that in order for white people to ally with black people that we need to think of black children as our children and iirc he didn’t think that could ever happen. When i see posts like this i think, do you not see your neighbor? Do you not see your aunt? Do you not see your teacher, your bus driver, your dentist, your friend, your peer, your equal? Why are you pushing their death tape onto others when the accounts of their murders are written out so people can know without seeing?

It’s odd to me that 1) this is the post that gets notes when I’ve seen multiple of my black mutuals express their complete disgust with the original posts and the sentiments shared within, as well as op’s extremely condescending response (maybe because I am not black and it’s easier for yall to stomach or something?) and 2) those same black mutuals and other black users are ON THIS POST agreeing with it, and there’s STILL white people arguing with me, saying I took the post out of context. What more do black people need to fucking do to get you to listen to them???? People in the notes have rightly brought up the way that people on the internet encourage others to watch videos and look at photos of palestinian people getting murdered—what good does this do? I don’t need to see the wound get made to know blood has been spilled! I LISTEN TO THEM!!!

The op of the post I screenshotted is saying that unless people watch this, they’re not going to even come close to understanding the depths of the depravity of police brutality. Uhhh, personally, when I hear that the police shot and killed someone PERIOD, let alone a schizophrenic black woman that wanted help, i’m perfectly aware that that was wrong. I don’t need to see this white cop murder a black woman. I don’t care how merciless he was how cold he was how inhuman he was—he killed her. I KNOW. What more could be gained from this? And you think WE, the people seeing your white weeb ass try to grandstand to grieving black people online, are the arbiters of truth?? You think we’re going to control the narrative?? You only know what happened BECAUSE THE NEWS ALREADY REPORTED IT.

Other people have also mentioned in the notes that white people’s activism is mostly self flagellation, then showing nonwhite people their bloody wounds, saying see? Aren’t i sorry? Have i made up for it? I watched a woman get murdered because i care so much, despite the fact black people have told me to stop sharing it, because i care, and they’re too stupi—i mean, emotionally involved to realize watching sonya massey die on video is A GOOD THING!

Fuck off!

if you can stomach it i would recommend watching the body cam footage of the sonya massey killing, i'll try to describe it but it's hardly possible. you can't truly understand the type of [the screenshot cuts off]

an anti suggests the author look at actual CSEM because they want the author to prioritize the "health/safety" of fictional characters

just straight up admitting they care more about fictional characters than real kids being harmed.

The dark web exists, you know. You can go find your preferred viewing material there and leave these characters alone.

The way you openly broadcast into the internet that you're into hurting children disgusts me.

"Haha I'm a trans man but I'm in a male dominate field so I delayed my transition!" So you were shamed into staying closeted. How is that funny.

The idea that trans men and afab enbies need to misgender themselves so they can be used as objects for cis women's rights will always be transphobia and a gateway into terf rhetoric.

Is this real, though? This sounds like op made up a guy, I have never heard anything like this from anyone.

I was referencing this post, which I had seen minutes before I made this:

But other than that, yes it happens, all the time? Trans men and many nonbinary people are pressured to stay in the closet to not lose friends, to keep their scholarships, to retain jobs, to be able to stay in certain programs or schools, just because they find their transition embarrassing or "a blow to feminism," etc, and it's sometimes seen as "stealing resources from women" when they transition. Like the post I'm referencing, it's often presented as a joke, I just don't find it funny to admit that your support systems are so bad you think not transitioning is a win.

hell im a trans man thats fairly visibly queer, have my ID updated with my sex, and my dream since i was a kid was to get into engineering, or be an electrician. so many programs or unions or sponsorships or scholarships in the city i live in are specifically focused on getting more women into STEM/trades. i do not pass as a woman, my identification and records all state that im male, but i am still trans. i still have to deal with a lot of barriers to get into these fields.

but i end up having to ask whether i should misgender or out myself with every application. i dont get the respect that a (cis, abled, white, straight, middle to upper class) man otherwise would but im also not easily considered as a diversity hire. i keep wondering if i made a mistake by transitioning before applying for these things. i keep thinking about how my aptitude for engineering was praised as some feminist girlboss thing until i transitioned and somehow none of that wwas remarkable anymore.

Fun fact, trans men and nonbinary people earn 70 cents for every dollar a typical worker earns. So the idea that trans men are "privileged" when entering a field is bullshit.

In Aotearoa the wage gap for trans people of all genders is 50% and we have twice the unemployment rate as cis people :) Also while it didn't hold my transition back I've absolutely felt guilty for no longer being a "women in STEM who's a role model to girls". There's no discussion of the importance of trans people in STEM and oppositional sexism means that women are discouraged from being "inspired" by trans men because obviously as men we could never have anything in common with women.

I want to add to non schizospectrum people that this really is a thing that sucks and makes life worse for us. Multiple times on Tiktok and Insta I've seen people talk about schizophrenia only for the comments to be that they "don't get the joke." Or people try to play as us as if we are literal characters, fictions. They like to trigger people with phrases like "I'm in your walls" because of some misguided belief we are all playing pretend together.

Some people in the notes have lamented how saying "I'm schizophrenic and this is hurtful" just brings more mocking. So it would really help change culture for the better a bit if those who support us would speak up too.

Also schizo is not a slur for all mentally ill people or anyone without schizospectrum disorders. You do not have the right to reclaim being compared to us, being lowered to our level. Please help us because we exist, though we may exist somewhat separately to you.

Id: a meme of a man looking at the camera with a tired smile on his face. Parts of the text have been edited over to say the following. "If you call your shitty memes schizo posting... I'm fucking stealing something out your house!!!" End id
