and i’m done! now i can officially say i kept my new year’s resolution! looking back i really think i did evolve as an artist this year. anyway, this tiny last batch has kyou kara maou, chrono trigger, earthbound and an oc!

thanks to all my followers and sorry about posting these things basically every day this last month, but it’s over now! and i can say goodbye to having to think of something new to draw every single day. but since i’ve gotten into the habit of opening an art program every day i’ll probably keep doing that anyway, haha. maybe in 2018 i’ll try and write something every day? i do feel like i haven’t written as much as i’d like to in 2017 because i had to draw everyday, so maybe i’ll make that kind of a resolution.

also, to anybody who wants to get better at art, i recommend trying this new year’s resolution too. try to do it for at least a month if you’re unsure about whether you can keep it! that’s how i started and then after a month i just kept going and here we are

almost at the end of the year! a lot of different fandoms this time... earthbound, pokemon, no.6, story of seasons, dai no daibouken, moomin, voltron, kyou kara maou and dbz. a bunch of unfinished comic sketches here too. day 335 is another dad giovanni comic because i friggin’ love that concept

uhh that day 306 comic is probably the reason most of my followers are here and i want to take this moment to say i couldn’t have posted that if it wasn’t for my suikoden shitposts, and the people who like them, giving me confidence and letting me know i don’t have to draw my art perfect for people to like it. thanks, bye

this batch is mostly harvest moon/story of seasons, pokemon, tales, and ff9. come to think of it, why do i tag most fandoms with general names but always go with the numbered entry on final fantasy? i’m really bad at tagging consistently it turns out

anyway 289 is based on a really good tales of the abyss fanfic i read that was called bladework i think? about asch and ion working together to oppose van from the shadows through politics. it’s so good and everybody should read it! also reading it inspired me to make the zestiria/abyss au you see on day 290. i wrote a fic about it and it’s been gathering dust in my drafts for a while now. i’m nervous about posting fanfic so i haven’t posted it yet but i want to...

anyway, i posted 278 at some point, as well as all the suikoden stuff here, except for 277. well since that’s small let’s stick that in here too

this batch has ff9, jjba, digimon, dragon quest and suikoden, and ocs of course. not much to say about these. oh yeah except 270 was when i started drawing suikoden shitposts which turned out surprisingly popular. (thanks for liking them, everybody! i love you all!)

this time there’s ff9, kamen rider, precure, harvest moon, yugioh, tales, phantasy star, suikoden and... technically breath of fire? day 250 and 252 are my redesigns of ryu and nina from when i was designing a cast for a new breath of fire game for fun. day 253 is an ff9 au where kuja, zidane and mikoto’s roles are swapped. i really like that protag!kuja design i did. day 255 was me going “what if armatization in tales of zestiria worked like kamen rider den-o”

this time there’s mostly suikoden, some kamen rider, ff9, voltron, beyblade, and some ocs. day 231 is a klance kuuga au comic sketch, day 227 is actually a longer suikoden 2 comic sketch i still want to finish and post some day, about an older riou and jowy. day 237 is a dumb cute kamen rider ooo au where shingo is a child and therefore so is ankh, basically just an excuse to draw a tiny cute ankh

Just like in the last one I was working on the Klance Kuuga au comic and a lot of these are sketches for it. Besides Voltron this batch has Pokemon, Harvest Moon, Suikoden, Inazuma Eleven and DBZ. This was around the time I started using a mostly outlineless artstyle more! I’d never tried it until I decided on a whim to start drawing a long-ass comic with that style for some reason? Anyway, I think I evolved as an artist thanks to that whim so, sometimes you gotta follow your whims. thanks, bye

Back during this time of the year, I was working on turning Klance Kuuga AU sketches into comics basically most of my free time so a lot of these are just really quick doodles drawn inbetween working on the comic. Besides Voltron, this batch has Harvest Moon, Precure, Splatoon, Danball Senki and Legend of Zelda. And my ocs, as always.

This time we’ve got Pokemon, Suikoden, JJBA, Yugioh, Digimon, Stardew Valley and Fire Emblem, and a bunch of ocs. Also featuring: white backgrounds and nothing else. Later during the year I started using colorful backgrounds more often, but we’re not there yet.
