what’s your very first memory of supernatural/your first encounter with the show?? curious
Probably SuperWhoLock posts here on tumblr, which I saw because I had already gotten dragged into Sherlock and then Doctor Who by some people I was following on here for TOS Star Trek fandom stuff.
When it started looking like something I’d maybe enjoy I asked my son if he’d heard of it. Turns out a friend had loaned him the season 1 DVDs, which he tried and didn’t care for, and hadn’t mentioned because he didn’t think I’d like it either. Fair, because if I’d just started watching it from the beginning without having seen anything about it on tumblr, I probably wouldn’t have seen more than a few episodes.
BUT MISHA! I saw Castiel on this hell site and wanted that storyline. I was seriously pissed when he wasn’t in it from the start. But then it turned out Dean was THEE best character of all time…so I enjoyed him thoroughly while awaiting Castiel.
(We hadn’t “had TV” since 1999. Cable wasn’t available and a dish wouldn’t work in our location. So, anything we watched before streaming was available (and before we had a good enough internet connection) had to be on VHS tapes and then later DVD. So it’s not like we saw commercials for other shows to try while watching TV.) We moved to a new location in 2016 and tried cable for a while…we just never watched it, had gotten used to not having it. So it was canceled to save the money.
