I have a podcast I put on Patreon for free called TIME TO DRAW THE LINE. In it D.J. Bryant and I look back, year by year, at our journeys with creating comics. In episode 12 we begin a look back at what we were up to in 1997. Here's a link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/time-to-draw-12-54245141
And actually we went so long on this that I separated our discussion on Lost Highway into it's own podcast. Listen to that here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/time-to-draw-12-54272939
In this Time To Draw The Line episode D.J. and I talk about our lives in the year 1996. We were 17 years old and in the throes of our teenage struggles with identity.
The comic we focus on is Frank Miller's Sin City: That Yellow Bastard. And our movie is Tony Scott's The Fan.
D.J. and I celebrate our One-Year Anniversary in this, our tenth episode. We take a break from looking to our younger years to look back at just this past year. We talk about the comics, movies, and music we're currently into, about art style, wearing your influences on your sleeve, and where we are creatively and what we've been creating.
These are podcasts that are free on my Patreon.
Time To Draw The Line: Episode 7
Listen to D.J. Bryant and I talk about Lily Cat, Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, Casshan Robot Hunter, 8-Man After, Baoh, Urotsukidoji 2: Legend of the Demon Womb, Alakazam the Great, Ghost in the Shell and Akira.
Time To Draw The Line -- Episode: 6
D.J. and I talk anime and manga with a heavy focus on the Akira manga and the Venus Wars anime.
Just in time for the Halloween season, we're back with a new Time To Draw The Line podcast, and this time we're talking about one of the spookiest years ever -- 1994!
Join D.J. and I as we look back to 1993. We were 13-14 years old, we were reading WildC.A.T.s #5, we were seeing The Fugitive, and I was getting chemotherapy.
I’ve got another Time to Draw the Line episode! This time D.J. and I are looking back at 1992. We were 12-13 years old, in 7th-8th grade, and Image Comics was all the rage. We get into it about our early attempts at creating original comic ideas and the competitiveness of our friendship. We also dive into Wolverine #50, Cyber Force #1 and Alien 3.
In this post I also share the oldest work of mine that I’ve ever put on the internet.
