Is kind odd to me because when I started the show I feel like I supposed to like Daemon and Rhaenerys more bc how everyone was hyping them up. But watching the show I find the greens way more complex, compelling characters and their dinamics as well. When I go to YouTube ways pop to me the amount of Aemond x character aus.
Is so odd for show that should make me side with the blacks made them so forgettable compared to the bad guys lol. I am not seeing they are bad characters but I think there is a clear distinctiveness in the depth and characterization there when compare both sides.
yeah, so when i went into the show i really wanted to stay neutral - i knew i was gonna love alicent, because she was my favorite in the books as well, but i was kinda expecting that i will love her and then the rest of them will be fine. buuuut than the fandom happened and honestly, greens are so interesting, complex, real characters. alicent, criston, aemond, aegon, otto, fucking larys... i wanna explore more about arryk cargyll, because what kind of loyalty and at the same time, total disinterest, he is showing, is impressive. his brother erryk just bolted, meh, boring. just... greens. yes.

greens are slytherin family. criston is a gryffindor but he married in so they don’t hold it against him. people grow.
*sighs* yes, aegon’s claim is actually very valid. he is not some second distant cousin pretender usurper. he is first born son of a king, in a land, where male primogeniture is an actual legal thing.
“viserys, the king, named rhaenyra an heir. not aegon.” - well, that’s nice and all but did he legally changed the primogeniture? did he made an actual law that woman when elder was to inherit instead of their younger male counterpart? no, he didn’t because that would challenge his own position. that’s the joke. viserys wanted rhaenyra to be the queen, which is totally fair and reasonable, but he was too comfortable to take the kingship from rhaenys.
viserys wasn’t some kind of progressive feminist king - he just had favorite child. and aegon, while ill-fitted to be the king, had a good claim. if viserys wasn’t the blind fool he was, he would realized that but he didn’t. that’s all.

an alicole headcanon for your consideration: Criston would absolutely be the type of father figure to give Alicent's kids small, but thoughtful and personalized gifts on their birthdays / name days. And Alicent is incredibly grateful to the man, because while Viserys organizes grand feasts and gives the children something generic that befits their station, Ser Cole is the one who can put smiles on their faces with his tiny gift parcels.
oh my goodness! absolutely! he can't afford much, it's true but he always get's them something he knows they will love, he gave aegon little wooden sunfyre when he was 10. for helaena he found encyclopedia of insect. and aemond got his first sword from cole - much like arya from jon. alicent just absolutely beams to that.
and btw, he can't really give anything to a queen, with kids it's different but with her, he would be risking gossip and both of their head, but he always leave a flower in front of her door in the morning of her name day. she knows where it came from.
