i feel kind of bad for people that never watched, or just never got into, star wars rebels and the clone wars. i think at this point those two shows did become kind of mandatory watch to really get what is going on in the star wars universe.
and i don’t say this in some kind of derogatory sense, like that people that watch those shows are better - nah. some people just aren’t that into star wars to watch it, some just don’t like animation but it is interesting to see people reacting to the kenobi trailer and you see the divide between: “oh, look cool bad guys with red lightsabers” vs. “i identify this character as grand inquisitor and this is the fifth brother and they will die in rebels 5 years from now”.
you could’ve already saw it with ahsoka, bo-katan and cad bane in the previous shows and it will be interesting what it will do with sabine, ezra and thrawn in the ahsoka show. i mean, of course, they’ll have to re-introduce the characters precisely for this audience but i still have my boyfriend’s face in front of me when i complained about the ahsoka design in the mandalorian and he said: “yeah i went on wikipedia to look her up, because you didn’t shut up about it, and the article was like 5 meters long so i closed it.”
