I get a general idea and I picture my characters. I'll have a few scenes/plot lines pop in my head I want to happen, and I know the ending. Otherwise, I just start writing and let the characters guide me to where I want to go...

god help me I just uploaded the second chapter to my DN/lawlight fic 🫡 this chapter killed me btw and I cried real tears trying to write it

#lmfao I have tried so many times to intricately create outlines but I am incapable of it#I am by every means a pantser of a writer like Stephen King#I start a story with a vague idea of what I know the plot to be. and some even more vague concepts for plot points. and likely a conclusion#and then some very hyperspecific and detailed scenes that are like movies in my head#and by some I mean anywhere from 2-10 various scenes lmao#with that being said I have no context for where these scenes fit into the timeline or story#aside from that? I don’t know shit I am flying blind and the characters do the rest for me#I have to be plagued by delusion and start having psychic Visions and that’s how I write#writing

I’m almost done with the second chapter of my lawlight/DN fic. my god I’m clawing my way to that finish line LMFAO when I say writing this is genuinely the most challenging thing I’ve ever taken up im so serious. writing these characters makes me feel like a complete moron stumbling around in the dark BUT… it’s a labor of love.
