like i just. the loyalty of it all. a dog that follows you to it's own ruin. he trips and falls into a family and doesn't realize until they're already home. looks up one day and realizes he wants to stay. he loves these people. but he will always hold onto his loyalties outside of them, too. his dogged allegiance to etho. how, over and over again, it led him to his death. and he'll wake up again back with his family and they'll pick him up because that's what family does. and they won't ever ask him to give up that loyalty but they'll ask him, doesn't it hurt? are they worth that? are they worth you?

and the answer will always be yes.

the nature of being a hc fan is that one day you’ve caught up on all your povs, three days later you’re suddenly behind two episodes on everyone and have no idea what that new build is on people’s streams and there’s a new inside joke and a new hybrid design and a new duo name has popped up on twitter

no seriously i feel like this is why we sometimes need to Not See The Fandom and engage at our own pace. the vids will still be there. fomo is tough and you will never catch up on everything and you might get burnt out and you might dip for a while and that is okay. take my hand we will obsess over this 3h stream from five years ago

there has been lots of good points in the notes and i want to say it’s okay to miss things out. it’s okay to only watch one pov even if it’s grian/mumbo/scar. it’s okay to not watch if you’re not interested/busy/whatever. fandom isn’t homework. there is a lot of stuff going on on hermitcraft constantly so it’s okay to find your niche and stay there. it’s okay to be out of the loop.

also idk it feels like hc fandom is very fast paced when it comes to things, especially with streams and liveblogging and constant interactions between hermits (especially this season). and people making new art/fic/hc/analysis in response to the latest information,?but as we know, it’s hard to keep up on the latest information. the present is ever changing. like personally i am behind on all my mains but i have also rewatched the clip of false and ren the morning after demise twenty times at least because it makes me happy.

be free. have fun. watch whatever brings you joy. or don’t watch it if doesn’t bring you joy. fomo is one of my biggest personal struggles in this fandom but also i cannot know everything that is going on because that is unsustainable. rewatch that comfort ep from three seasons ago. start watching something that began in 2016. skip through vods. skip episodes. rewatch episodes. bring up headcanons from 2021. we can do whatever we want. forever
