Truly Madly Deeply

As much as he loves to sleep in, he can’t seem to help himself come the mornings after nights shared with you – his body forcing him awake at the first sound of you rustling the sheets beside him. He’d lay on his side and stare down at you snuggled into him, probably with a painfully love-sick look on his face as he admired your sleeping form, reminiscing on how the two of you had come to be.

He’d been the one to pursue you in the beginning, but nothing could have prepared him for the trance he’d end up in. He’s not entirely sure how you managed it, but you’d bulldozed past every one of the guards he’d put around his heart and completely changed the connotation of that four-letter word he’d grown to despise. 

He found himself plotting different ways to keep that world-altering smile on your face – ways to keep you on your toes and looking forward to your next encounter with him. 

Breakfast in bed, surprise lunch dates, impromptu letters or messages reminding you just how important you were to him. He’d begun paying extra attention to the things you liked, noting which things your eyes lingered on in shops or that you pointed out to him. 

All of this, for you. 

Never once did he question if it were all worth it – the efforts, the costs, the time – because he knew once you smiled up at him and gave him that look, the one that made time itself stand still, he would feel the fruits of his labor. 

He prayed this feeling would last forever, though he would never let his worry show, always playing the calm, cool, and collected person you’d grown to love him for being. 

But you always saw through his facade, saw the glimmer of doubt that crept in on rare occasions, and always calmed the storm in his mind the same way.

“I love you,” you’d breathe softly as you raised your hand to his cheek, pulling his face down to yours. He’d savor the soft press of your lips to his before meeting your eyes, his cheek pressing into your touch as he relished in the reassurance.

“Always?”

“Always.”

You’re Wounded 

Summary: how they react to you being wounded

Characters: Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Ace, Sabo, Law, Kid, Shanks, Beckman, Mihawk, Crocodile, Robin, Nami, Buggy, Usopp

Genre: mix of fluff and angst, very slight

Sees to your wound without a word, making sure it’s disinfected and bandaged and receives proper care until its healed. Places a soft, quiet kiss atop your head, doesn’t say a word. Makes a mental plan to avoid similar situations in the future.

Fusses over you while you see to your own wound, feels like they dodged a bullet, blames themselves for any harm that comes to you. “Never again,” they promise themself, bringing you a hot cup of tea to soothe you. 

(Nami, Sanji, Usopp, Buggy)

Makes a light joke, inspects the wound himself even if there’s a doctor present, will help bandage you up if you need it. Pretends to be nonchalant about the entire thing, is panicking inside. Fully realizes the depths of his affection for you, is terrified to realize it’s love.

Lectures you on your fighting form, tears into you for taking any unnecessary risks, gets on your case about not seeking medical attention fast enough. Tells you to get some rest, sits at your bed side until you’re better, claims he’s not there for you and is just resting his own eyes. 

(Zoro, Kid, Crocodile)
