The Harmony on Die thou.
How you can tell it’s payday.
Look what I came home with
AND
And the greatest thing I’ve ever found.
FREDDY KRUEGER WITH SYRINGE FINGERTIPS!!
Omg. I had to have him.
I am so damn happy!
I was so tired I fell asleep in the middle of Freddy Kreuger. Shame on me. Dishonor. Dishonor on me. Dishonor on my cow. DISHONOR.
When people ask me why I think Freddy is the best Horror monster, I should just show them this image. Look at the crazy look in his eye. And the scary make-up. So perfect.
I see literally no difference.
What’s the point of Freddy doing this? She isn’t looking. And it’s not like she knows he’s there. So why?
If anybody wants to watch Freddy Kreuger with me, I’ll be here
Alrighty. Might as well start it up. Here we go!
How did it go a whole week before I found out about his passing! Unacceptable Tumblr. Someone should have informed me!
Wes Craven, you will be severely missed. You created many awesome horror movies and brought a bunch of creative, new, and scary things into this world to terrify us not only in our waking hours, but also in our dreams. Freddy Krueger is my favorite monster in the history of monsters. Not because I’m scared of him, but because of how awesome a character he is. He will fucking get you one way or another. You gotta sleep sometime. And the way he toys with his victims? A drug user who’s track marks make little sucking sounds? Fucking. Awesome.
I could, and will, devote a whole post on my love for this character in depth closer to Halloween. But for now I want to honestly thank Wes Craven for everything he’s given us. All the creativity, all the scares and all the fun. Thank you sir for bringing this into my life. I really am very sad to hear you’re gone and I hope when you get to heaven you scare the wings off a few Angels.
Rest in Peace Wes Craven 1939 - 2015
I already Miss you.
I am so friggin bored with Horror movies. Nothing is good.
I want to watch a horror movie. a GOOD Horror movie. Something interesting that will ACTUALLY Scare me. Seriously, the horror cliche’s we have may be fun to watch and make fun of but I’ve said it before, they’re not scary. I mean do enjoy a bunch of the movies, but in a cheesy this is hilarious way. Chucky is a bad baby doll. Jason is boring. Pennywise was terrifying as a kid, but watching it as an adult is hilarious because Tim Curry is obviously having an awesome time in the role. Freddy is not scary at all but when people ask me if I like him I have to say yes. He is interesting both his character back story and design. And his power is probably the most scary because that bitch can get you when you sleep so you can only outrun him for so long.
But none of these things SCARE me. I want to be scared. I want to watch an interesting horror movie that actually tries. I’ve been looking at netflix and redbox but all the horror are just rehashes of the same crap I’ve seen 100x’s. Or just not very interesting concepts. I mean, how many times can I watch a creepy kid do creepy things? Or watch a possessed doll run around and kill people? Or have the main guy say they need to split up when that’s the stupidest course of action?
I want a good horror movie. Something that doesn’t just use a ton of gore to cover up the fact that its story is weak as hell. I want a monster that is actually frightening and not distractingly hilarious. I want real characters and not stereotypes. I want.....something good. I’m so tired of the same old things all the time. That’s why I wanted new books to read. And I have those. So now I need new movies.
Sigh. Need good scary in my life!
They were playing Freddy Krueger movies on the fear network so I recorded them and now I'm watching them. Now. Freddy is my all time favorite horror villain.
This Freddy:
NOT this one:
This abomination is not Freddy, but I'll get to that later.
Freddy Krueger is a good monster for the simple fact that he kills you in your dreams. With Jason or Chuckie, you have a chance, and I say chance because they usually get you anyway, to get away.
With Freddy you can only escape him for so long. You have to sleep eventually or you'll die. And he's always there, just waiting. Plus since he's in your mind he can find the things he knows will really hurt you. When he made his fingers into needles for the junkie that was my favorite one.
Freddy is not really scary so much as funny to me. Over time he really started to have a bunch of funny one liners. He plays with these kids before he kills them. You can see how much fun he's having. How much their pain and torment fuel him and make him happy. He's demented, evil and simply crazy. But that's why I like him. They don't try to make him a victim. When they do eventually reveal his backstory, you feel bad for his mother, not him.
Now since these were made in the 80 and early 90s the graphics and effects can be a lot cheesy. But at least for me, that's a part of the movies charm. I love laughing at the bad clay tongues and the weird Freddy transformations from one thing into another. Like when he morphs out of a wall or TV.
I think the concept of Freddy is more scary then the actual character. He murders children, and then also molests them (according to speculation in early Freddy and confirmation in the remake). What is more terrifying then that? Someone chasing people with a chainsaw is scary but someone who purposely chooses children to inflict all their horror? That is demented and twisted and really scary.
I understand why people are afraid of him. My sister will kick you in the face if you mention him or sing the song. I'm not afraid so much as fascinated by his complexity. He is scary but sassy, evil but funny, and malicious but so relaxed. Robert Englund was the perfect Freddy and I'm so glad he reprised his role for so many sequels. It wouldn't have been the same without him. And in fact wasn't in the remake.
Alright so I have A LOT of feelings about the remake, mainly I think it sucked and I'm sad I lost both money and time I will never get back from it. But I'll just give my main issues.
Number one: He lived under a school
What. The. Hell? The whole point of Freddy is that Iconic house. It was a major fucking plot point. I know they took creative license but come the hell on. The house? You had to change the house? Bull shit. That house is iconic. Even people who don’t watch the franchise know what that house means. Did changing it to a school really dial up the creep factor? Because I don’t think it did.
Number two: It's not the same actor
Now I can forgive this a little bit because Robert didn't want to do it, I think he read the script and rightly decided against it. But no one can be Freddy other than Robert. He perfected the role. He is Freddy Krueger. The new guy could not match him in scary or sassy. He may have tried but in my opinion he failed on both accounts.
Number three: His new look
He just looks silly. Why did they get rid of his nose? Was that just a trend? First Voldemort, then Freddy? Is not having a nose supposed to terrify us? I know they said he wanted to change the look to be more realistic of real burn victims but he just looked silly. Which is saying something because original Freddy wasn’t exactly pee in your pants scary to begin with.
Number four: The kids all dream simultaneously
Now in the original one kid would start dreaming of him and then tell another who told another and it started a downward spiral. They didn’t all just up and start dreaming. I know that these kids all lived on Elm street and their parents were the ones who killed him but they were all across the globe. They didn’t even live on Elm street anymore. What’s the point of calling it a nightmare on elm street if they’re not on elm street?
Number five: Freddy Krueger CRIES
Freddy is a bad ass character. He’s evil. He takes enjoyment out of the pain he inflicts. He does not cry! Do you think a man who is murdered and is begging for his life and crying the whole time is really the type to come back and seek revenge as a dream murderer? No. A man who is brutally murdered and is cursing your existence the whole time is the type to come back. Freddy crying ruins everything. That was the moment I knew I could never like the remake even if I tried to separate it from the original.
I really expected a lot from the remake. It had so much to work with and with all the new technology and graphics it could have been terrifying. But it wasn’t.
But all in all Freddy is still my favorite Horror movie villain. He’s creepy, he’s evil and he can get you in your dreams. I’d watch out if I were you.
Good Point Freddy. Good point.
