What if...

That whole thing of, “When your Soul Mate gets hurt a bruise appears on you” thing was true? 

What if one day you woke up and there were scars on your wrists, thighs or arms and you realized your Soul Mate was a cutter. 

What if you wanted them to know you cared, that you were there for them, that you LOVED them, so you cut words into your own skin to tell them. 

But what if in their grief and through their pain they just can’t believe that you’re genuine and that you do care and it’s not out of guilt or duty that makes you try and help. 

But you keep trying. Keep trying to get through to them. Because you do care. And you don’t want them to give up. 

But you still keep trying. You want them to see that you care enough about them to cut your own skin to get them to stop. Everyday you keep it up and write more and more encouraging words. 

Until one day you write an address and a time into your wrist, wanting to be sure they see it. And you go there and wait. And hope that they show up. And then suddenly you can see them. You see them walking towards you and the first thing you do, is get up and go to them. 

You wrap them in your arms and whisper encouraging words to them. Because they did it. They survived another day. They are a fighter. And you are proud of them. And you tell them that you are always going to be there for them. 

You know that it’s not going to be easy. There will still be bad times and sad times, you’re not a perfect savior and you can’t fix every problem. But you are willing to be there no matter what. So that even if you can’t fix the problem, you can listen. And you can help them understand that they don’t have to fight alone. 

And then maybe one day, with your support and love they can realize that it really does get better. 

And then one day. They can learn to smile again. 

And you can stand together and keep fighting through all the hardships ahead. But then, you also get to enjoy all the happiness that life offers too. Together.

So Happy. It’s.....bigger than my Get Kind shirt. But still Okay. I’ll use it to sleep. It’sat night when I need to remember to be strong anyway.
