Day 11: Yangchuanosaurus
using "what were YOU doing at the devils sacrament" to mean "yeah i made an embarrassing reference but you understood it which is also embarrassing" is very funny to me
my favorite part is that absolutely nobody says this except here. so if you use it in public, it's a dead giveaway that you spent the last ten years on tumblr. but then again, they recognized it, which means they were at the devil's sacrament
#no one wants this presidents shoelaces #so yeah we had to update the pass-phrases @ayrki these cannot be left in the tags
my time on bluesky has been so fucking funny to me. having an existing base + my dog seems like an algorithmic cheatcode and anytime i post him, regardless of the caption, the algorithm starts serving it to anyone's discover feed and i get a slew of replies from 45-70 y/o's that just see a dog
live well william

Ya know what, I like this guy so far
Not done yet, I hope to add some more detail to make the areas with pycnofibers more clearly distinct from the areas with bare skin, but I’m proud of how it’s coming along!
You can tell how annoying it’s been to work on this cause the rig is named “the good one”. There have been like at least three bad ones
have you done the cuties ever? Mononykus and Jakapil?
Mononykus I've had for a little bit, but I just added Jakapil to my shop!!
Hmm, I coulda made Jakapil a little larger on this picture, but I've finally got em!! I've had them sketched for almost a year and I managed to squeak them into my November shop update!
If there's one thing I've seen over and over again in the Dracula Daily + Re: Dracula fandom, it's the desire for an animated adaptation. Not of media-inspired-by, but of Dracula itself. And so, I've made:
...something that is decidedly not animated.
Yet.
I'm hoping to get Dracula Reanimated (tentative name) in exactly 1 year from now, by the end of DracDaily's 2025 run, perhaps even the beginning of it if I'm really good. But in all honesty, it could take till 2026 given the teeny complication that 1) I've no animation skills whatsoever 2) fulltime job.
So, I hope you'll stay around for the next 2 years at least to see this completed.
In the meanwhile, if you'd like to support a project by actual professionals, try @theholmwoodfoundation . It's a found footage horror fiction podcast by @georgiacooked and @fiotrethewey set in a time long after the events of Dracula, and yet the characters find themselves haunted (literally) by vestiges of the past.
Goodnight, stay safe, and rest well.
Whoops late for Dinovember Day 9
🙃 Regular reminder that while Hozier has amazing love songs, he is ALSO very outspoken about his leftist politics, specifically anti-fascism, anti-racism, reproductive rights, Palestinian rights and more.
Take Me To Church and Foreigner’s God are scathing critiques of organized religion, specifically the Catholic Church and the colonization of Ireland.
Moment’s Silence is about oral sex but it’s ALSO about how that specific sexual act is often distorted to a show of power rather than that of love.
Nina Cried Power is an homage to various (mostly Black) civil rights activists from the US and Ireland and a call to follow their path.
Be criticizes anti-migrant policies and Trump and his ilk.
Jackboot Jump is about the global wave of fascism and about protest and resistance.
Swan Upon Leda is about reproductive rights and the violent colonial oppression of Ireland and Palestine.
Eat Your Young is about the ruinous way the 1%/capitalism and arms dealers prioritize short-term profit over everything else to the detriment of the youth/99%
Butchered Tongue is about Irish and other indigenous languages being suppressed and erased by imperial powers.
If any of the above surprised you, please, please delve deeper into Hozier’s music, you’re missing such an important part of his work.
