“I’m glad your sister introduced us,” he then said after a short silence.
Y/N turned her head to look at him, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Me too,” she replied before looking back at the view before them. The sky tinted a gorgeous pink and orange, and it made y/n realize that the sunrises are different here than they are in New York. She couldn’t quite pinpoint the difference, but this one was more beautiful than the ones she had seen at home. But it might’ve just been the company that made it better. “She actually told me to let loose that night and now that I did, she isn’t so happy anymore.”
“Oh, so she’s regretting it?” he asked, an eyebrow raised. Something in the pit of his stomach told him that this was actually bad news – her dad and her sister were against him. What if he got in the bad books of everyone in her family? She wouldn’t ever return to the Outer Banks and he would never see her again because she would choose her family over him.
Why would she ever choose a guy she just met over her family?
“I think so,” y/n nodded, “But I’m not.” She could tell he needed the reassurance, and judging by the smile he shot her way, she knew it was appreciated as well.

Her eyes rolled back in her head as she groaned. Francesca was the worst. She always tried to push y/n into doing things she didn’t even want to do. Though she wasn’t wrong. Y/N had never been one to try and grab the spotlight. She always let Francesca do the dazzling while she just smiled and waved. But maybe tonight could be different. Maybe tonight she should let go of that idea.
Her own thoughts made her feel helpless, but she pushed them down and followed her sisters downstairs where their parents were waiting. After a bunch of delightful comments from their parents, the family piled into the car and got driven to the island’s Country Club. During the drive there, y/n couldn’t stop thinking about Fran’s words.

Haven’t started writing this one. But the idea’s pretty much based off Aladdin where reader would be the daughter of a wealthy man on figure eight who’s planning to buy all the land on the southside of the island to build like apartment buildings or something. During the “princess’” secret outing one night, she meets JJ and gets to know all about the cut and the pogues and tries to put a stop to her father’s plans. She wants a say in her father’s empire. She won’t go speechless. (Get it? Like the song from the live action?)
