Summary: It’s the coldest it’s ever been since the hot summer you had, and you’re freezing, when you go to put on a sweatshirt, you find yourself tempted to take one that isn’t yours.
You didn’t think it’d be this cold when you woke up that morning. You went to work with just a thin jacket and a pair of trousers that weren’t particularly warm. You were practically frozen when you arrived at the office, but warmed up soon after a hot cup of coffee. It’s when you come back home to your and Luke’s apartment -- where you hadn’t put the heating on yet -- that you realize it’s beginning to look a whole lot more like a fresh, cold autumn. The one you’ve always loved the most. So, the second you step foot inside, you drop your bag, kick off your shoes and head off to the bedroom where you open your closet. Your warm, flannel pj bottoms are perfect to keep your legs warm and a sweatshirt would do. But which one? Your eye falls upon one of Luke’s on the chair next to the closet and you get the cosiest feeling thinking about feeling the warm, soft fabric on your skin and inhaling the fresh, minty smell of your boyfriend’s. You chuck it on and make your way to the kithcen where you start cooking up a dinner for the both of you as you knew Luke would be home soon from the studio. “You coming, Princess P?” you ask the dog, who’s been following you around since you walked in. You hadn’t been able to say hello properly yet as you were way too focused on getting warm.
“Honey, I’m home!” his voice chimes through the entire apartment when you hear the door open and close again. “Kitchen!” you yell back, and soon enough your boyfriend’s beautiful face and deep blue eyes appear in the kitchen. You smile as he walks over to you and kisses you on the cheek before saying hello to Petunia. “You know you’re wearing my favourite sweatshirt, right?” he asks, wrapping his arms around your waist as he watches you cook over your shoulder. “It’s my favourite of yours too,” you tell him with a smile, “Plus, it’s really warm and I was super cold when I got home. I almost forgot it could get this cold,” you explain to him. “It’s going to get a lot colder next week,” he informs you, pulling his arms away from you so he can get a glass of water. “I know, I might as well wear this sweatshirt to the office then,” you say a little teasingly, but judging from Luke’s face, it almost looks as if he’s concidering it. “I mean, I wouldn’t mind seeing you in my sweatshirts, to be fair. I think it’s adorable,” he tells you with a little smile. You laugh a little, shaking your head. You can’t believe how cute your boyfriend is. Unlike previous boyfriends, he really shows how much he apreciates everything you do and how much he loves everything you do. How much he loves you. You don’t need reassurance of his love for you, he just shows it. Sometimes by giving you flowers or something small he picked up from somewhere when he was on tour. Or he’d give you cuddles and kisses. But most of the time, he’d just tell you he loves you. In a text too, but more often to your face. And you loved him and you try to show him that. By cooking for him, for example. “Dinner’s ready,” you tell him while dividing the pasta into two bowls for the both of you to take to the couch to eat it there in front of the tv. “Thanks, baby,” he says, taking one of the bowls from you whilst kissing you in the cheek. The two of you sit on the couch with Petunia next to you, her head on your lap, and start watching the tv show you’ve been watching together. He’s finished his pasta first, and when he’s put his bowl on the coffee table, his hands go immediately to your hair. He looks at you every now and then, licking his lips. But you don’t notice, really. He kisses you on the cheek and in your neck. And when you’re done eating, he grabs your bowl and his to go put in the dishwasher. When he comes back, he wraps his arms around you. You lean into his body, really snuggling up to him with the sleeves of his sweatshirt pulled over your hands into sweater-paws. During that entire 50-minute episode, he hasn’t been able to keep his hands or lips off of you. He’d kiss your hair constantly, run his fingers up and down your arm, and when you’d look up, he’d kiss your forehead, your nose and then your lips. You sometimes change positions where he’d wrap his arms around your upper body and rest his head on your breasts with your hand in his hair, playing around with the beautiful blonde curls. That entire night, he’s clingy and he can’t keep his hands off you. “Why are you being so clingy?” you ask, laughing a little to make sure he knows you don’t mind. You love clingy Luke. It’s probably your favourite mood of his. “Because you look cute in my sweatshirt, I can’t help it,” he tells you as the both of you walk into the bedroom to go to bed. His arms are still around you, even if that turns walking a little more into stumbling. “I love this sweatshirt,” you say as you take it off to change into a pj top. “It loves you too,” Luke says cutely. You chuckle a little before crawling into bed with him. The two of you cuddle up to each other, Petunia somewhere at your feet. You knew all too well she’d wedge herself between the two of you somehwere during the night. “And I love you too,” you whisper, finally feeling all your muscles relax and feeling the warmth radiate from his body. “I love you too, baby,” he then says after a little chuckle and then the both of you fall asleep. Together, warm and snug. And completely relaxed.
