In a monumental discovery for paleontology and the first of its kind "Mummy of a juvenile sabre-toothed cat Homotherium latidens from the Upper Pleistocene of Siberia"

Abstract The frozen mummy of the large felid cub was found in the Upper Pleistocene permafrost on the Badyarikha River (Indigirka River basin) in the northeast of Yakutia, Russia. The study of the specimen appearance showed its significant differences from a modern lion cub of similar age (three weeks) in the unusual shape of the muzzle with a large mouth opening and small ears, the very massive neck region, the elongated forelimbs, and the dark coat color. Tomographic analysis of the mummy skull revealed the features characteristic of Machairodontinae and of the genus Homotherium. For the first time in the history of paleontology, the appearance of an extinct mammal that has no analogues in the modern fauna has been studied. real talk can anyone name any "the children of this very popular cast of characters are now having their own adventures!" concept that actually worked well. because imo it always creates a the same problem where the original cast are forced to sit out on most of the action of the story because they're no longer a part of the main cast of the new story but especially in fantasy/action/scifi scenarios this hardly ever makes sense because why would someone who went through horrible stuff as a teenager/young adult just let their kids go through the same things without intervening? why would you bring blorbo back just to tell me she's a terrible mother

the lesson I'm taking away from this election is not that the Democrats need to become more left wing or more right wing but moreso that they need to find a way to cater their rhetoric towards people who genuinly have no idea what is going on. the target audience for every speech and political appearance should be someone who doesn't know what the three branches of government are because they were drawing a Cool S during high school civics

political scientists have failed to consider the possibility that the silent majority is silent because they didn't understand the question and are trying to play it cool

Part of why people mistrust wellspoken seemingly educated speakers is because they're afraid that they are secretly being made into the butt of a joke they don't get. They feel like they're being sold something, or being derided in some way. It goes hand in hand with classism, too! They're scared and trying to play it cool and have been being turned into the ignorant butt of the joke for being the rednecks or white trash or dumb average Joe for so goddamn long that they don't trust nobody who talks like a goddamn thesaurus. They jsut tune right the fuck out.
