I think if I were writing the Reyes romance in Mass effect Andromeda I would give Ryder an opportunity to come back to him after dumping him during high noon, because there are a lot of reasons you might in the moment be like I'm not okay with being lied to, or I think I'm not okay with being with someone like you

And then as you continue to make hard decisions and kill lots of people, but you're still in the position of having the support of the Nexus and to some extent the angaran resistance while he's out here trying to clean up the mess that the Nexus basically caused... It was never going to be pretty.

Ryder could find that they relate to him more than they think or more than they want to. Hell, that could be the reason they ran away in the first place. But having that time to make those connections and think them through could mean that they change their mind and go back.

Plus, after everything, after seeing more horrors and making ugly choices, it might be nice to have someone who is in no position to judge you for it and wouldn't anyway and is also totally smitten.
