This is nothing short of an all-out attack on our Constitution — and by our own sitting president! Never before has #Trump gone this far to fight against the entire purpose of the founding of our nation. The American Revolution was about freedom from tyranny (among other issues). Our Congress creates law, the judiciary enforces it, the president should defend it. What makes this so especially heinous is that #JoeArpaio IS a tyrant. He abused his power and abused people who should have been protected under his care: THAT is tyranny! But we are a nation of laws, and the judiciary called him out on it, of which he ignore their ruling — a ruling which is ALL about what we are as Americans — equally protected under the law. #Trump pardoning him is a president not doing the job of protecting and defending the Constitution, but, instead, waging war against it, for it endorses tyranny. This defines, more than any of his other actions, his clear intent to create authoritarian rule in the United States.
