alt-right follower Riley June Williams (22) may also be charged with light TREASON — “rebellion or insurrection“ and espionage #NatSec

An FBI agent disclosed the detail in an affidavit released on Sunday night that outlined a criminal case against Riley June Williams, a Pennsylvania woman accused of unlawfully breaching the Capitol building and directing people to Pelosi’s office.
Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin said after the attack that some of the thefts might have potentially jeopardized what he described as “national security equities.”
Williams has fled an address near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, that she shared with her mother, deactivated her phone number, and took down social media accounts.

Williams’ mother: She took an interest in “President Trump’s politics” and “Far Right Message Boards”

Williams’ ex contacted the FBI

According to the affidavit filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the FBI received a tip from someone who stated they were a former romantic partner of Williams.
The tipster said Williams “intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service,” the affidavit stated.
According to the tipster, “the transfer of the computer device to Russia fell through for unknown reasons and Williams still has the computer device or destroyed it,” the affidavit stated. The investigation remains open.

  • The image, first shared by Vladimir Cicmanec, was shared across social media — including by the Facebook page of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, which identified the girl in the photo as “Lucie.”
  • “People from all walks of life, and #Scouts among them, came to the streets during an extreme right march yesterday, to express their support for values of diversity, peace and understanding,” the WOSM said on Facebook. “Creating a better world!” Read more (5/3/1)

Excerpt:

Scientists and science advocates are expected to fill the streets of more than 500 cities across the world on Saturday in support of scientific research, which they feel has increasingly come under attack, especially during the Trump administration.
Since its inception in late January, the March for Science has transformed from a grass-roots social media campaign into a bona fide force of scientific advocacy, attracting support from more than 220 official science organizations. But the marchers and the activists who organized them will soon have to address what follows the demonstrations. In addition to channeling the energy they’ve built, they will also need to contend with tensions that have emerged within the scientific community over this political turn.
“We have no intention of letting this stop after April 22,” said Dr. Caroline Weinberg, a public health researcher and co-chairwoman of the march. “I will have considered it pretty much a failure if after April 22 all of this movement and all of this passion dissipates.”
Most eyes will be on Washington, where the main march will occur. But there will also be rallies in medical hubs like Boston, technology centers like San Francisco and even in the heart of oil and gas country, Oklahoma City. The strength of these satellite events could be important indicators of where the activism generated by the march will head in the future.

New York City

Rally for a #FairWorkWeek and Fast Food Worker Empowerment Friday, March 3, 2017, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern, City Hall

“Everyone needs to plan their time to balance work, family and education. But last minute scheduling practices endemic in the fast food industry prevent fast food workers from planning theirs. It’s time for a #FairWorkWeek NOW! They also need the ability to form their own nonprofit organization to fight for their rights and improve their communities.”

“As we continue to defend public education from federal attacks by Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos, we march to defend [education] here in New York from Governor Andrew Cuomo. The public investment he proposes in his education budget this year is woefully inadequate and falls way short of being equitable. … Black, brown, immigrant, refugee, low-income, LGBTQIA, English language learners, homeless students and students with disabilities are worthy of an investment that will meet their needs not deny them opportunities to be successful.”

“Donald Trump was scheduled to return to NYC for the first time since the inauguration; but of course he chickened out, knowing that we prefer New York City WITHOUT HIM! We are certain that his absence will not stop the trumpalumpas from continuing with their March 4 Trump rally in support of him this Saturday, so we still want to make a strong showing in a counter protest at Trump Tower.”

March 4th for Standing Rock Saturday, March 4, 2017, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern, New York Public Library, 42nd Street and 5th Avenue

  • As more restaurateurs and chefs speak out against the Trump White House, the culture and privilege of dining out has become inseparable with issues regarding immigration reform.
  • Following suit, a planned Thursday protest, entitled A Day Without Immigrants, will leave plenty of food service establishments and hospitality businesses unstaffed by the immigrants who help these institutions run on a day-to-day basis.
  • Many D.C. restaurants are planning to close or curtail service. Read more (2/15/17 7:13 PM)

Trump & Republicans: Food for Thought

"When employees who haven’t missed a day of work in nearly 25 years come to you and ask for a day off to march against injustice, the answer is easy.
[Immigrants] helped build our business. They are our business, they are our family, and we stand together."
Ken Bromberg, who co-owns Blue Ribbon Restaurants with brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg said via email.
