The federal U.S. budget has so far only earmarked approximately US$1.4 billion for the construction of the border fence President Trump is planning to build on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Following the declaration of a federal emergency, the Trump administration is also diverting US$3.6 billion from the Department of Defense budget for construction and military housing.
While the Department of Defense has approximately US$716 billion at its disposal for FY2019, construction and housing is a rather small budget item at US$10.5 billion. Trump’s demand exceeds the annual budget for Air Force construction and all family housing construction for Army, Navy and Air Force personnel, as seen in the graphic.
Taking away US$3.6 billion would also be equal to halting for a year all DOD construction in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia combined.
The White House said another
and Repeal and Replace Republicans in local, state and federal elections!
Here’s a question for all the Republicans out there screaming for the Democratic majority in the Congressional House to approve Trump’s $5.7 Billion demand for the wall… Republicans controlled both portions of Congress for two years of Trump’s Presidency and wouldn’t support funding for Trump’s wall, and it wasn’t a problem, let alone a crisis. Once Democrats were set to take over the Congressional House, suddenly, the wall is a crisis worthy of a government shutdown, so which is it? If you say it’s the crisis it’s being claimed to be now that Democrats control the House, you’re liars, hypocrites, or both.
The hoopla over trump’s wall is nothing but a smokescreen to deflect away from the nasty things that are going on in the White House he doesn’t want anyone to notice; attacks on women’s health care, gay and transgender rights, promotion of unconstitutional religious freedoms, bigoted judge placements and so on.
No wall, instead build a Tomb!

Trump’s alt-right MAGA boys: “Build that wall” #TrumpShutdown
Phillips, an Omaha tribe elder who fought in the Vietnam War and now lives in Michigan, has long been active in the indigenous rights movement.
A co-founder of the Native Youth Alliance cultural and education group, he shows up to Arlington National Cemetery every Veteran’s Day with a peace pipe to pay tribute to Native Americans who served in the U.S. military.
“My job has always been taking care of the fire, to keep the prayers going,” Phillips said.
Start of the story
The images in a series of videos that went viral on social media Saturday showed a tense scene near the Lincoln Memorial.
In them, a Native American man steadily beats his drum at the tail end of Friday’s Indigenous Peoples March while singing a song of unity for indigenous people to “be strong” in the face of the ravages of colonialism that now include police brutality, poor access to health care and the ill effects of climate change on reservations. #TakeAKnee
Surrounding him are a throng of young, mostly white teenage boys, several wearing Make America Great Again caps, with one standing about a foot from the drummer’s face also wearing a relentless smirk.
Nathan Phillips, a veteran in the indigenous rights movement, was that man in the middle.
“It was getting ugly, and I was thinking: ‘I’ve got to find myself an exit out of this situation and finish my song at the Lincoln Memorial,’ ” Phillips recalled. “I started going that way, and that guy in the hat stood in my way and we were at an impasse. He just blocked my way and wouldn’t allow me to retreat.”
Some of the teens in the video wore sweatshirts from Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Ky., which sent students to Washington to participate in Friday’s antiabortion March for Life event, according to an archived page of the school’s website that was taken down on Saturday.
“To see a group of students from a Catholic school who are practicing such intolerance is a sad sight for me.”, Rep. Deb Halland (D-N.M.)
“We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general,” the statement said.

“The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion.”
Secret Service #TakeAKnee ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Such is the nightmare public relations scenario facing the White House less than a week before the Department of Homeland Security and other key government agencies run out of money at midnight Friday while Trump is scheduled to fly that day to his Mar-a-Lago resort for a 16-day vacation.
“The only leverage in shutting down the government is who gets the blame for it. And he’s already taken the blame for it.” Rick Tyler, former aide to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas)
