Biden, will be happy to know that a new Fox News Poll shows 51% support Trump’s impeachment and “66 percent of respondents said it was not appropriate for Trump to ask foreign leaders to investigate political rivals.”

“To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached,” the former vice president told supporters here, accusing Mr. Trump of having “betrayed this nation.”
“We’re not going to let Donald Trump pick the Democratic nominee for president, period.”, Biden

Greg Sargent of the Washington Post goes further, Mike Pence knew exactly what he was doing”  #UkraineGate

“It’s really hard for Pence to claim that he didn’t know exactly what he was doing.”

  • He heard about the extortion directly from Trump. According to Trump himself, Pence was one of three administration officials (including Mulvaney and Secretary of State Mick Mulvaney) that Trump initially informed of his decision to withhold aid from Ukraine.
  • He got the memo. According to The Washington Post, Pence “probably would have received the detailed notes of the president’s call”—that is, the five-page memo clearly showing the president’s quid pro quo—well before his sit-down with Zelensky.
  • His top adviser was on the Zelensky call. Pence’s national security adviser, retired Lt. General Keith Kellogg, was reportedly one of several administration officials who listened in on the July 25 call as it happened.
Try as he might to stay out of the spotlight, Pence is directly implicated in Trump’s shakedown of the Ukrainian government. Trump made him the messenger in his corrupt ploy to turn America’s foreign policy into a tool for his personal political gain.

And then there’s ALL of this:

“I think you should ask for Vice President Pence’s conversation because he had a couple of conversations also,” Trump - Sept 26, 2019

Oct. 3, 2019: Pence declared himself  ALL IN

"The fact that my predecessor had a son who was paid $50,000 a month to be on a Ukrainian board, at the time that vice president Biden was leading the Obama Administration’s efforts in Ukraine, I think is worth looking into." - VP @mike_pence
“This is basic stuff. Foreign donors — and certainly foreign governments — cannot participate in the American political process.”, Mike Pence
"It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election,"

After the #DisloyaltoTrump hashtag went viral overnight in response to President Donald Trump accusing any person of Jewish faith who voted Democratic of being “disloyal” to the state of Israel—the president sparked fresh concerns about his mental health Wednesday morning after he tweeted quotes from one of his right-wing supporters who said Trump was like “the King of Israel” and compared Trump to “the second coming of God.”

Thanking radio host and self-described “warrior conservative” Wayne Allyn Root for his “very nice words,” the president tweeted:

Donald is all that stupid then some but! Everything that’s happened under trump can be placed at Republicans feet who could have took there “squad” into the Whitehouse and told Donald to shut the fuck up or we’ll impeach you ourselves. This all is a rotten republican party Exposed.

Ted Lieu uses Mueller’s Report to show that Trump committed Obstruction of Justice AND Robert Mueller agrees.

TLDR: Watch the video or skip to The Summary below.

Ted Lieu methodologically layouts how Trump’s orders to Corey Lewandowski, Jeff Sessions and Don McGahn fulfilled the 3 legal elements required to indict him with Obstruction of Justice.

Element 1:

Ted Lieu: “I'd like to now turn to the elements of obstruction of justice as applied to the President's attempts to curtail your investigation. The first element of obstruction of justice requires an Obstructive Act. correct?”
Mueller: “Correct”
Lieu: “i'd like to direct you to page 97 of volume 2 of your report. You wrote there on page 97, quote, ‘Sessions was being instructed to tell the Special Counsel to end the existing investigation into the President and his campaign’, unquote. That's in the report, correct?
Mueller: “Correct”
Lieu: “That would be evidence of an Obstructive Act because it would naturally obstruct the investigation, correct?
Mueller: “Correct”

Element 2:

Lieu: "Okay. let's turn now to the second element of the crime of obstruction of justice which includes a nexus to initial proceeding. The same page of volume 2, you wrote, quote, “By the time the president's initial one-on-one meeting with Lewandowski on June 19th, 2017, the existence of supervised by Special Counsel was public knowledge.” That’s in the report, correct?
Mueller: “Correct”
Lieu: "That would constitute evidence of a nexus to official proceeding because a grand jury investigation is an official proceeding, correct?”
Mueller: “Yes”

Element 3:

Lieu: “Okay. I'd like to now turn to the final element of the obstruction of justice. On that same page, page 97, Do you see where there's the intent section on that page?
Mueller: “I do”
Lieu: “You wrote, quote, “substantial evidence indicates to have Sessions limit the scope of the Special Counsel's investigation to prevent further investigative scrutiny of the President's campaign and conduct.” unquote. That's in the report, correct?
Mueller: "That's in the report. and I rely what's in the report to indicate what's happened in the paragraphs we've been discussing.”

The Summary

Lieu: “Thank you. so to recap what we've heard. We have heard today that the President ordered Don McGahn to fire you. the President ordered Don McGahn to then cover that up and create a false paper trail. now we heard the President ordered Corey Lewandowski to tell Jeff sessions to limit your investigation so you stop investigating the President. i believe a reasonable person looking at these facts could conclude that all three elements of the crime of obstruction of justice have been met. and i'd like to ask you the reason again that you did not indict Donald Trump is because of OLC opinion stating that you cannot indict a SITTING President, correct?
Mueller: “That is correct”

Hundreds of additional former federal prosecutors have signed onto a statement asserting that President Trump would have been indicted for obstruction of justice were he not currently serving as president.
The open letter organized by the nonprofit group Protect Democracy had roughly 400 signatures when it was initially posted Monday afternoon on Medium. The letter neared 700 signatures as of Tuesday afternoon.
Among the new signatories are Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), a former U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-Mass.), a former prosecutor in the U.S. attorney’s office in Philadelphia. Both lawmakers have been critical of Trump.
The letter claims that were it not for Justice Department guidance stating that a sitting president cannot be indicted, Trump would have been charged with obstruction of justice based off the evidence laid out in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
The former federal prosecutors point to Trump’s attempt to direct former White House counsel Don McGahn to fire Mueller, as well as other actions to limit the scope of the special counsel investigation, as being sufficient evidence to obtain an obstruction of justice charge.
“Each of us believes that the conduct of President Trump described in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would, in the case of any other person not covered by the Office of Legal Counsel policy against indicting a sitting President, result in multiple felony charges for obstruction of justice,” the letter reads.

Did you wonder what a constitutional crisis looks like?

Now that Treasury won’t turn over Trump’s tax returns to Congress as the law requires, we’re in one. If Congress can’t perform oversight on the executive branch, then the system of checks and balances is dead.

❤️ David Crook’s epic open letter to Bush. #POTUS43 the time is now. “O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells

A few of the money quotes:

Our government is embroiled today in as serious a constitutional crisis as it has ever seen. No, it’s not the Civil War. It’s not the 1952 steel strike. It’s not federal troops escorting black children to school. It’s not Watergate.

“You, Mr. President, are the only person in the country with the moral authority and the political influence to stop Trump’s dismantling of our republic.”

Never has this been so clear as on Wednesday, May 1. The attorney general, the nation’s top law enforcement officer, argued in the Senate Judiciary Committee like a hired-gun defense attorney representing a Mafia boss. It was a performance historians will heap scorn upon for a century. James Comey’s remarkable essay in Thursday’s New York Times says it all: William Barr has sold his soul, piece by tiny, shriveled, unredeemable piece.
Unlike your grandfather, your father, you and the rest of the Bush family, Barr has shamed himself, his children and his children’s children. He has betrayed his oath and the Constitution.  As a devout Catholic, he will have to answer to his Lord for betraying his country, a sin that puts him in the Ninth Circle of Dante’s Hell.

Mr. President, you know Trump must go.”

He must be impeached. He must be tried and convicted in the Senate and removed from the White House. He and his family and his entire crime syndicate must be hauled before the courts, indicted, tried, convicted and imprisoned. He and his family must be broken. Made destitute. Reduced to begging on the streets. Anything less, and they will use their remaining millions of dollars to march across the country, rousing Trump’s minions and imploring them to finish off our government and Constitution. Donald Trump is the enemy of the people.
You are loved by blue-collar Republicans. You can appeal to the marginalized Republicans who have never felt comfortable with Trump. The left will embrace you as a hero.
Today, Mr. President, you are destined to languish in the depths of history, a minor president who squandered his moment.
But rise to the now, Mr. President. Take on this challenge. Today, take this instant, this moment in history, and you can redeem your and your family’s legacies.

“Lead the march to stop this tyrant, Mr. President, and history will forever know you as the Savior of the Republic.”

The simple takeaway from the Mueller Report is the President betrayed his country and spent two years lying and breaking the law to try to hide that fact. He should resign and be tried for his crimes.
