This has nothing to do with the “left” or “vengeance”. It has everything to do with the Rule of Law according to the Founders.
Trump, his officials, Republicans and his cronies committed real crimes — serious crimes, therefore, they should be prosecuted like any other criminal. Trump and Republicans want “Law and Order” — give it to them. Otherwise, a slap on the wrist will only embolden Republicans to do it again with Don Jr. and Ivanka.
Among the glories of democratic government, the historian Jill Lepore wrote recently, are that after an election “the loser concedes without violence, and the winner accepts without vengeance.”
Lepore was right in her observation but wrong in assessing its current implications for the U.S. She was arguing against a reckoning of Trump administration wrongdoing that takes the form of either a South Africa-style “truth and reconciliation commission” or criminal prosecutions.
Either option would inevitably become an instrument of partisanship, Lepore argues. She approvingly quotes Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden as warning that criminal prosecutions of Trump officials would be “probably not very … good for democracy.”
“In the trade-off between prosecution and stability, Biden chooses stability,” Lepore writes. “Much of the left does not.” Her conclusion: Let history judge.
Can someone send Donald Trump, Jr my birthday wishes? He blocked me shortly after I found this photo of him in Moscow at a Russian real estate conference, where he served as keynote speaker. Don’t retweet this though. We don’t wanna remind folks of his 10+ years of Russian ties.

"Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets", Donald Trump Jr. said during a conference in New York in 2008.
Not surprised the RNC LIED or was freely acquired by the Trump Organization.
“We haven’t made a large bulk purchase, but are ordering copies to keep up with demand,” Mike Reed, an R.N.C. spokesman, said two days after the fund-raising email promoting “Triggered” was sent. “Each book is sold to an individual who supports the Republican Party.”
But a financial disclosure form filed to the Federal Election Commission showed that the R.N.C. paid $94,800 to the bookseller chain Books-A-Million on Oct. 29, a week before the book went on sale. Disclosures filed by the R.N.C. indicate that the payment was for “donor mementos.”
Don Jr. and RNC, any quid pro quo?
According to a report last month by The Independent Florida Alligator, a student newspaper of the University of Florida, a fund-raising consultant working for the R.N.C. and President Trump’s re-election campaign also helped arrange a paid speaking engagement on campus in early October for Donald Trump Jr. (The consultant told The Alligator that she had been helping the president’s son in a “personal capacity.”)
#SharpieGate Donors, where’s my copy?

On Thursday, White House Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney announced that next year’s G-7 summit would take place at the president’s Trump National Doral Miami golf resort in Florida.
The Doral resort lost 62 percent of its operating income between 2016 and 2017, and its revenue fell 13.8 percent, Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold tweeted.

Democrats are getting #BenedictDonald Trump’s tax returns — probably Ivanka, Don Jr and Eric’s too 😂 🌊
Trump, his children Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, and his businesses sued the banks in April to block them from complying with the demand from lawmakers to turn over the financial information. A federal judge in May rejected that request, and Trump has appealed.
The names were redacted but everyone knows who the 3 children are!
Deutsche Bank AG confirmed that it has tax returns requested by U.S. lawmakers seeking financial information for President Donald Trump and his family. Whose returns are those? That’s still a secret.
From Reuters
Deutsche Bank has long been a principal lender for Trump’s real estate business. A 2017 disclosure form showed that Trump had at least $130 million of liabilities to the bank.
Subpoena served to Capital One
The Trumps are also seeking to block a separate subpoena served by the Financial Services Committee on Capital One Financial Corp (COF.N) seeks records related to the Trump Organization’s hotel business.
Capital One said in a court filing on Tuesday that it did not have any tax returns related to the subpoena. The bank did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

The disclosure comes as Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee are seeking to obtain Trump’s personal and business tax returns, which the president has refused to turn over, from the Treasury Department.

Viktor Vekselberg is known as Putin’s “American” Oligarch who privately boasted of Trump ties.
One person the Times saw arriving, but was never photographed, was Viktor Vekselberg, a Russian billionaire with close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He handed over at least $580,000 to Micahel Cohen around the inaugural.
Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who held the infamous Trump Tower meeting, was photographed at an unofficial Trump inaugural event, The Times showed.
Admitted Russian spy Maria Butina was in attendance too.
All while Ukrainian politicians were posting “on their Facebook pages bragging about how they got access to some of these exclusive black-tie balls.” They all claimed it was part of the American tradition, meeting the incoming president over champagne to lobby him about issues.
