Ann Coulter: Only national emergency is Trump "is an idiot"

The war of words between right-wing pundit Ann Coulter and President Donald Trump continued Friday, with Coulter returning fire after a high-profile jab from the commander-in-chief.

Trump on Friday said he both didn’t know much about Coulter and questioned her mental state, while announcing his intention to declare a national emergency to get funding for his long-promised border wall.

“Ann Coulter, I don’t know her. I hardly know her. I haven’t spoken to her in way over a year. But the press loves saying ‘Ann Coulter.’ Probably if I did speak to her she would be very nice. I just don’t have the time to speak to her,“ he said, before adding he had liked her because she previously said he would win in 2016. "But she’s off the reservation, but anybody that knows her understands that. I haven’t spoken to her, I don’t follow her, I don’t talk to her.”

Coulter reacted shortly thereafter in a radio interview with KABC. Coulter, who wrote a book titled In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome, has withdrawn her support of the president over his inability to get the wall built.

“It was one thing, the promise he made every single day at every single speech. Forget the fact that he’s digging his own grave,” Coulter said on KABC. “The only national emergency is the our president is an idiot.”
