Chapter 10: just tell me where to start

They all eat waffles together at the island, Ghost keeping a sharp eye on Ella in case she drops any on the floor. It’s quiet, peaceful, comfortable. Even if he’s currently exhausted from the previous day, Jon wouldn’t mind if all of his mornings looked like this.

Dany helps him put the dishes away when they’re finished, Ella running around the kitchen with Ghost as they clean up. “So much for wearing her out yesterday,” he laments, and Dany laughs. She almost barrels into the two of them, but Dany catches her shoulders, stopping her.

“You need a bath when we get home,” Dany determines— her hair is still up in its bun from yesterday, notably more disheveled, though the amount of glitter remains. “We’ve got to wash your hair.” Ella grumbles, but goes back to playing with his dog once Dany releases her. A chill races down Jon’s spine though— is she going to leave? He doesn’t want her to, even if he knows she needs to eventually.

“Before you go,” he says quietly, and Dany turns back towards him. “D’you want to… should we talk?”

She exhales, meeting his eyes with certainty. “I think so,” she agrees.

Alright these two are my absolute darlings, my destructive sweethearts who love each other more than they can handle, and I’ve loved them for years and there’s not that much fic for them and I’m personally kinda picky about their dynamic in fic but I am also trying very hard to spread the word of this ship so I wanted to make a rec list of my fifteen favourite fics for Sirius Black/Narcissa Black Malfoy!

All of these fics center around siricissa, so there’s the obvious warning for cousin incest in every fic. Other warnings have been included, but please do read the tags and all before reading bc I just included the most obvious warnings.

They’re sorted by year they were published, starting in 2010 with the very first fic I ever read for them (I only read it in like 2016 or so, but still) and ending in 2023!

Also for one of these fics, this gorgeous piece of art was created that I’m still stunned by each time I see it, so I wanted to bring some special attention to it. It was created by @dragonanddirewolf for the fic The Black Rose.

Growing up, Narcissa doesn’t pay much attention to her cousin Sirius - after all, she has more important things to do, such as finding a pure-blood match. But she slowly starts to realise that she wants more from life than just a marriage, and perhaps Sirius is the only one who can offer her passion. If only they can both figure out how to be around each other as politics and family divide them.

I AM SO SO SO SOOO HAPPY YOU DID IT 😭

I can’t pretend to be surprised after months of you locking yourself away to write but I am still SO grateful for this amazing gift. It’s such a rarepair and I know it won’t be for everyone but you really managed to capture what I love about these two characters- both as individuals and as a couple. I think my tears were enough proof of how much I loved it ♥️

Also, Sharon’s moodboard is just 🥵 the casting for Sirius is too damn perfect and I spot a familiar face as Cissy and I’m here for it 🙊🙊 the leather, the darkness… ohhh I am just being spoiled here. I’ll need to examine it more closely later 👀
