your grip tightens around hanma's wrist, a physical plea for him not to walk out your door. he stands still in the doorframe, as his tall figure looms over your own protectively—like a barrier between you and the other side.

"please shu'.. don't go." you mumble, hanging your head down low. your nails dig into his pale skin, as hanma slowly engults your hand with his larger one. moments of silence pass, until he brings your fingers to his lips, and places a delicate, careful kiss to each of your knuckles.

"i have to, darling. you know i do."

tears well up in your eyes. was it at his words? or his gentle voice?—your shuji was always so careful with you, treating you like a doll and acting indifferent no matter the situation.

you feel soft thumbs gingerly wipe away the droplets trailing down your cheeks. hanma pulls you into himself with a heavy sigh, both of your bodies reacting to each other's contact. your heart beats faster and his slows down. he was your energy; you, his calm.
