Good Sunday to everyone! Today we are opening up the 2024 DPxDC family week. I will reblog anything posted on Tumblr with the tag #DPxDCFamilyWeek2024.

Helllo everyone! Welcome to DPxDC Family Week 2024. This year we are doing it a bit late.

This is a prompt event for writers and artists. A lot of DPxDC crossover works involve the idea of long-lost siblings and adoption, so we want to celebrate that with this week! The idea is to encourage people to make a bunch of fics or art around different family dynamics, whether it’s bio-family, found family, platonic fluff, angst... whatever you want! 

The prompts use the terms "family" and "relative," but it's important to keep in mind here that this is inclusive of found family and other kinds of family that are not blood-related. These terms are shorthand for a family-like relationship.

When: July 14 - July 20

How: Post your works on Tumblr with the tag #DPxDCFamilyWeek24 (one word) and I’ll reblog them here! 

What: Each day has two prompts: one situational and one single word prompt. You can use both of these or just one! This is a primarily crossover event, but you can use these prompts for single fandom works, too.

Hey guys. I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I wanted to do Family Week this year again but personal stuff got in the way. Also I have (ironically) family stuff to do on June 8-10. Sibling is having a kid!

My plan for this year was to do scene prompts instead of relationship titles. Things like: Dropping someone off for their first day of summer camp, or; Making a speech at a loved one's wedding.

I have those ready to go now, but would rather give a month for people to write before the publishing week. So here is a poll.

PATROL PARTNERS PRESENTS: PATROL PARTNERS 2024

That's right, you read that correctly, we're officially bringing Patrol Partners back for our second year! We thought long and hard, took the feedback from last year's participants to heart, and have made a number of changes that will hopefully help things run smoother this year. Some of those changes include how signups and team assignments will be handled, others include how check-ins will be managed, and others still include how things are handled behind the mod curtain. We will be sending out more details on all of that shortly, including an updated "Meet the Mods" post and "FAQ" post, so keep an eye out for those!

For now, here's the dates you need to know:

We will have another AO3 collection set up by August 1st, with posting instructions posted in the server for Tumblr, AO3, and FFN.

What Is A Bang?

A Big Bang, often referred to as a Bang, is a fandom event where writers and artists collaborate. Writers will write a story and artists will create a piece of artwork to go with the story.

How Does It Work?

Once authors sign up, they can begin writing. The minimum word count is 5000 words. There is no maximum, but please try to be realistic as the idea is for the fic to be finished before artists claim them. The author will write a short summary of their fic which the artists will read and then submit a claim. Claims are on a first come, first serve basis. If multiple people claim a fic, whoever does so first will be the artists to draw for it.

Once paired, the artist will then read the fic and begin to create art for the fic. At the end of the event, the stories and the art will be posted during the same week. This creates an influx of content for the fandom for everyone to enjoy.

Writer Sign Ups Open: March 15th, 2024

Writer Sign Ups Close: April 12th, 2024

Artist Sign Ups Start: June 21st, 2024

Artist Sign Ups Close: July 5th, 2024

Posting Week: September 20th, 2024 - September 27th, 2024

How Do I Sign Up?

There is a google sign up form. At the end of the form will be a Discord link that will take you to the Discord Server for the event. In order to participate, you must have a Discord account.
