Wait hold on. Nefja's reactive?

Yeah, to vehicles. I'm doing positive reinforcement but already at the stage where I'm slooowly waning out the treats where she doesn't need one every time but replacing it with a verbal praise.

S-Tier: delivery vans, flatbed cars, car trailers

A-Tier: e-scooters, bicycle trailers

B-Tier: trucks, tractors

C-Tier: bicycles, cars

There are going to be a lot more trucks doing work in our neighborhood soon. I had better start "reverse beep" desensitization for Tris, too. I think he'll still enjoy getting out there to yell at what he can see, but the reverse beeps will upset him inside, send him over from "barking because it's fun to yell" to "stressed out".

He, too, has a tier level but I don't know it as well as you do. My neighbor likes to race him (pickup on the road outside the fence) and I *think* he enjoys that, but the mere sight/sound of a garbage truck sends him into a fury.

We had an almost perfect storm of Tristan triggers: large truck doing work nearby, getting quiet then suddenly beeping its reverse warning again, and also a physical storm. If there had been muffled fireworks, it would have been a meeting of the anti-Tristan SPECTRE.

We brought Tristan in to snooze the morning away with us. Leashed, no jumping or climbing for him yet, but he was still where he belongs, with us. Delightful. Can't wait for him to come back full-time. We've missed you, Mistopher Tristopher--and I know you have missed us, because you let Gwyn lick your face.

I present to you: some of the finest Sad Tristan Noises ever captured on video. The bushhog is out there, and even though Tristan recognizes the truck & tractor, after last week he is just Done with people driving big vehicles around our (his) home. (It may be a day for anti-anxiety meds; we'll give him about twenty minutes and see if he chills down, or winds up.)

Note Gwyn checking to see if Tristan is okay, and giving me an accusing look like "Aren't you going to help??"

I held Tristan for the groomer yesterday; he is still nervous about big trucks and not thrilled about being carried off by strangers. I want him to keep enjoying grooming, so I made sure it would be okay with the groomer when I made the appointment, and then stood there with him the whole time while he was being clipped. I think next time he will be able to handle it on his own.

Got a photo with the mohawk clipped off, but Tris still had a cute lopsided fringe over his eyes.

After Tris was clipped nekkid (except whiskers, ears, and tail), he and I sat and stared suspiciously at the truck from the far side of the yard, while he munched a chew. I also asked for some easy tricks, to get him thinking about something besides the truck and give him more opportunities for reward moments.
