Young Melodrama Man manages to inquire if it's time for dinner in the most compelling side-eye, without twitching a body muscle.
It's time! Are the humans ready? Tristan is ready!

Suppertime: I count the pills, I scoop the food out of the cans and press the pills into the food. Tristan pulls the Supper Tug, Yvaine chirps and spins in eager anticipation.
Then just before we take the Supper Dishes to the Supper Spot, the Spaniels get to lick the (table) knife clean. Oh, soooooo happy.
[Sound: metal knife taps on metal bowl, then licking sounds.]
Since Tristan's Fetch and Tug Buddy is working from home, he generally comes over to carry Tristan's bowl to the bedroom for Morning Supper.
It's a longish process: counting Yvaine's pills, scooping her prescription food into her Supper Dish and mixing in the pills, scooping Tristan's food into his Supper Dish, letting the Spaniels lick the knife.
But TFaTB doesn't have to look, and I don't have to tell him, when Supper is prepared. He can tell by the change in Yvaine's chirping. The chirp frequency increases when I have finished with all the steps.
