Clexakru showed up and showed out for every poll. Clexa went from being runner-up our first year in Zimbio's Couples March Madness in 2015, to being the first canon ship and the first f/f ship to ever win back-to-back championships in 2016 & 2017. Look at the numbers... 4.7+ Million and 3.7+ Million votes

No fandom dominated the polls like we did. I remember when the blarkes got all cocky because they were leading in a poll for the first time ever... but it was only temporarily because Clexakru was busy voting in a bigger poll. Once we had that win locked in, we went to the poll with the blarkes, effortlessly took the lead, and when we knew our win was secured we even started voting for Becho just for fun to make the blarkes take a bigger L 🤣

Winning was sweet, but SLAUGHTERING the blarkes in polls nonstop was icing on the cake.

I swear that whole voting era made me never want to see another crosswalk, traffic light, or bus thanks to those damn captchas 😂 But I do miss those days with Pollkru. We did it for Clexa... for Lexa... for Heda

There’s this fic on AO3 that, according to my history page, I have visited 176 times.  Which means I alone am responsible for 176 hits on that fic.  I commented on some of the chapters, but only a few, because I feel like a stalker when I comment every week.  I gave it kudos, but I can only give it one, even though it’s one of my favorites.

So just remember, when you’re looking at that hit count and wondering why you don’t have that same number of kudos (divided by the number of chapters, because each one of those also counts as a hit), it might be because some people out there love your fic.  They read it when they’re feeling down.  They open it in the waiting room at the doctors office, or in the lonesome dark of night.  They turn to it in celebration when they did something right.  They open it over and over so they can send the link to their friends, or just to revisit the characters that they love.  They checked it ten times in one day, hoping that you had updated.

A disparity between hits and kudos does not mean that your readers didn’t like your fic, or that they were too lazy to hit the kudos button.  It means that some of them came back, and there’s nothing that makes me happier about my writing than that.

Some of my favorite fics I have read dozens of times. This is absolutely true.

I keep a window open on my laptop solely for top tier Clexa fics that I go back to reread... even got one open on my phone that includes Raylla fics I can't get enough of. I love finding great new fanfics but going back to read a fic I already know just hits different... most of em are completed and some are unfinished. Only downside is AO3 doesn't let me leave more than one kudos, I would if I could.

That, or a faulty security panel with a direct emergency call button to the local fire station.
