The difference in how fandom perceives Jason “im going to skip patrol to do this extra credit project” Todd and Timothy “happy high school dropout” Drake is classism, plain and simple.

Jason is perhaps the most enthusiastically academic batkid and would’ve loved to go to Ivy League; Tim canonically hated school. If left to his own devices Tim would work from home doing graphic design or some shit that doesn’t require him to see sunlight/put pants on and ya’ll know it

Jason was not only top of his class, but also class officer and would stay home from patrol to do extra credit homework. His classmates considered him a goody-two-shoes nerd, and were entirely correct.

And this is post-crisis canon, by the way.

Don't Get either of them#jay was That Nerd Kid who read books and probably watched documentaries all the time just to learn things#not that tim didnt learn too but academia so clearly didnt suit him#pretty sure the kid would have drowned in his own coffee sitting at his keyboard at 3 am if it were possible#and make no mistake theyre both giant nerds#but jay is that 'learn everything and do my best at everything' nerd#and tim is the 'i have one specific interest that i'll dedicate my entire life to but fuck everything else' nerd#and honestly? both are good#batboys#jason todd#tim drake#q

reasons why tim drake is downright terrifying and should not be underestimated/seen as any less than the rest of the batfam:

  • the extreme ease he is able to emotionally detach/distance himself from the situation
  • the long lengths he is willing to go to see something through
  • the effortlessness it takes him to manipulate a situation/plan for a situation
  • its scary how hes able to plan things so many steps ahead on such long periods of time??
  • and how elaborate most of it is?? like holy fuck
  • his skill in fighting
  • i feel like ppl don’t give him enough credit for it but he is good
  • dont have the energy to pull sources for this but. he is freaky good
  • his questionable morals

yeah anyways this boy is skilled and dangerous and shouldn’t be seen as beneath or less than anyone else in the batfam
