Yes, waterbenders can bend any water based material, as shown when Katara bends ink (Book 3, Chapter 16, “The Southern Raiders”) and soup (Book 3, Chapter 8, “The Runaway”). so as long as the oil is water based (baby oil, cooking oil, etc) then yes. If you’re talking about oil like for a car, then no, they can’t, because it isn’t water based.

What I adore about that moment where Sonic tries to save Pikachu is how it perfectly matches with Sonic’s character. Since 1991, he’s been trying to save smaller critters and animals from harm. Knowing Sonic’s character, he didn’t even have to think twice about it. He saw Pikachu in need and he knew he had to help him. Remember when Sonic couldn’t save Tails in Lost World? It devastated him. Only this time… Sonic had no time to mourn. I really love this moment despite the fact that it was only a couple of seconds long.

Could Sonic have escaped the lasers? Maybe… maybe not? But I love how our favorite hedgehog was able to be a hero right until the very end. I’m not being corny either. I just love Sonic so much!
