In need of a fresh start, Jack finds himself on the other side of the country to finish out his NHL career with a new team, the Providence Falconers. When their paths keep crossing, Eric and Jack form an unlikely friendship. Neither is looking for romance. But that just might happen, anyway.

It's been a while (I had to focus on my WIP Big Bang fic, which I finally finished and posted a few weeks ago), but I've finally updated my current Zimbits WIP.

Oh yeah, I would totally write that. Bitty can't afford his own Costco membership, and they've started cracking down on people using other people's cards (they really have), so what is he supposed to do but find a way to get on his rich best friend's?

And that gets him on a few mailing lists as "Mr. Eric Zimmermann," which he feels some kind of way about but isn't going to say anything. And Jack has the high-end membership, too, so now Bitty is getting ads for housewares he will never afford. They go to Jack, because it's his address on the account, but he saves them in case Bitty is interested and Bitty thinks it's very sweet.

"Jack, I can't afford a single thing in here anyhow."

"I could buy it for you if you want."

Bitty: *dies*

Then Jack gets an invitation to, idk, something more exclusive than Costco. *waves hands vaguely* Some rich-people thing that includes exclusive events at all of Providence's best restaurants, members-only workshops with those restaurants' chefs and pastry chefs, that kind of thing.

"Bittle, I'll buy you a membership if you want. It's fine, you know it's not a big deal."

"Jack, the invitation is for you, not your random college buddy you're vouching for. See, it says right here, only the invitee can apply for membership, and once they're accepted they can add one significant other to their membership."

"Oh, so it's like the Costco thing. That's fine."

"It is not! Like! The Costco thing!"

And, y'know, things snowball from there.

#I did get the correct answer but the only fanon here I care about is Jewish Jack.#I write him as such in probably 75 percent of my fics.#I guess I have also kind of adopted the Jursey one but that doesn’t have anything to do with fanon.#it has to do with (can’t remember if it’s in the comic or an extra)#him wearing a douchey beret and being canonically clumsy #just like a guy I kind of dated in high school.#so in my ahead I’ve given him all of this guy’s traits.

This is my art entry for WIPBB is for Bad Idea by @porcupine-girl ! I'm so honored to do art on PG's writing, as I have been reading her stories for as long as I've been on A03 (...10 years this year).

This is based off of a scene in a future chapter!

I did something a bit different for this entry! I had to get rid of my Adobe subscription so I ended up using clip studio paint for the first time in years. I was also watching Fruits Basket and got inspired to try to do a comic page. All this to say, I learned a lot and had fun doing it!

While in Atlanta for a sports memorabilia convention, Jack meets a cute blonde guy in a bar and goes home with him. He knows it's a bad idea, but he so rarely has such an immediate connection with somebody. Seven months later, he walks into his first meeting with the PR consultant he'll be working with on coming out, Eric Bittle. They're gonna have a lot more bad ideas together.

I've started posting my 47k zimbits fic for the @wipbigbang! I can't make my "official" bragging rights post until the whole thing is up; I should be able to post a chapter every couple of days for the next week or so.

If you like zero-to-married-in-sixty-seconds Zimbits, this is the fic for you. They are speedrunning everything and being so stupid about it.

A Boy Can Dream

Filling a prompt from @doggernaut: Bitty and Jack in their first summer dating, still secret, and Bitty seeing pictures of Jack escorting Alicia on a red carpet at some event she has and wondering if they’ll ever be able to be public like that. (And then maybe a flash forward where Jack is escorting Bitty at an event where he’s receiving an award?)

Bitty knew all about Jack’s trip to California. He knew that Jack didn’t want to go, except that he sort of secretly did, because he was bored alone in Providence.

He knew that it was a favor to Jack’s mother, who was Alicia Montgomery, a fact that Bitty still couldn’t quite wrap his head around.

Maybe Bitty was less comfortable with Jack's famous mother than he was with Jack's famous father because he’d met Bob a couple of times already before Jack’s graduation, or because Bob was so enmeshed in the world of hockey, Bob seemed … logical … for Jack to have as a parent. He fit, difficult relationship with Jack and all. When it came to trying to live up to a father’s athletic legacy, Bitty could relate. Bitty could relate hard enough that he noped right out of there at age seven.
