Perhaps that is why I’m reluctant to lower my guard, to let myself be seen. So, why do you still dream of him? Because I have no one else to dream of.

Yeaaaa…because tightlacing into empire waist dresses makes so much sense *eyeroll so big that I saw part of my brain* 

Actresses can hide a whole pregnancy under those dresses, but is it really a period drama without some painful corset scene? (I know that it’s stays, calm down)

• Tom Parker is an absolute fucking idiot! How did this man ever get anyone to invest in his business ventures when he’s got ZERO self control?

• Well, well, well, look at Mr Colbourne showing a few more sides of himself. Not gonna lie, he’s the most interesting of the two rivals for Charlotte’s affections imo. There’s obviously some tragedy involving his dead wife and how it all ties into Captain Lennox’s background, and I’m keen to know more. I find he’s growing on me. 

• The love story I’m actually most excited about is Alison and Captain Fraser. It’s clear that sweet as Captain Carter is, lying to Alison about who he is and what his interests are will not end well. And I’m patiently waiting for her to figure out that the man who can ‘see into her soul’ is actually the man she does not see coming.

• Give me ALL the Georgiana and Charles Lockhart scenes. The way she’s about to become his muse…. (Also, a moment of silence for Alexander Vlahos and his flawless acting.)

• Captain Lennox seems too good to be true. He’s literally everything Charlotte should want and bonus, he’s clearly interested in her. But there’s just something about him that doesn’t quite fit. Time will tell.

• My obligatory, once per episode: Fuck Edward Denham

• Listen, Esther’s storyline is going to be HEARTBREAKING this season. And what makes it worse is that she’s going through it all alone. It feels wrong? Yes, yes, Babbington literally isn’t around (ie. Mark Stanley) but having her trying all season to overcome her fertility issues without her actual husband there to support her doesn’t make much sense to me. Even if she stumbled across some miracle cure, she’s in no position to actually try to have a baby when Babbington isn’t showing up anytime soon. And this Clara baby thing is not going to be helping matters.

• Honestly, still not feeling any sizzling, leaping off the screen chemistry between Charlotte and anyone, but I’m still happy to be convinced.

I made a decision, not so long ago, not to care what anyone thinks of me. It was enormously liberating. Sanditon (2019- ) || 2.02

Sanditon S2E02

• Two names: Charles Lockhart & Georgiana Lamb 🥰

• Charlotte really is all kindness and compassion. She truly has the ability to win anyone over. Two episodes in and it’s clear she’s going to have a profound impact on the Colbourne household.

• Have I said fuck Edward Denham yet? 😒

• Esther Babbington does THE BEST eye rolls lmao. However, her vulnerability always hits hard. I miss Babbington, even more than Sidney tbh. 😭😭😭

• Colonel Lennox….hmm…still have no concrete thoughts about him. He seems to genuinely like Charlotte, although I’m naturally suspicious of him making his interest so obvious - that’s a me issue btw.

• I need more Captain Fraser and Alison scenes please and thank you. I sense this couple is about to become a fast favourite.

• Kinda cute watching Mr Colbourne lose money to his housekeeper. LOL

• Clara returns with Edward’s spawn?! 🤯 Can I say I’m surprised, but also not? Considering Esther’s fertility issues, I wonder how this new development will affect her specifically. It was obviously a deliberate creative choice on the part of the writers, so…..hope it doesn’t make her do anything desperate. 😔

In a nutshell, Sanditon is plodding along and I’m interested enough to keep going. Am I heavily invested? Not at the moment, but I’m sufficiently entertained to see where the story is heading.
