hello friends & strangers!

welcome to my fandom blog. here you will find reblogging of art, writing, and commentary on my favourite things, and every once in a while i'll make something of my own as well.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the post canon mithrun and thistle stuff. Here’s my idea: Yaad is desperate to help thistle, and hears somehow that mithrun was a dungeon lord. “Oh then he’ll be able to help probably” he thinks, a smile forming on his face. He was wrong it went Bad. It went so bad that it looped around and worked kind of. Pissed the fuck off is better than nothing and boy is mithrun good at making people MAD. So they send mithrun back (reluctantly. This man is beefing with a child beyond belief) but they send Falin as a mediator. Over time it works! Yay! They go on little adventures together around the city, and bond over good food and stuff. Also falin and mithrun become friends during this (woah not falin mithrun friendship propaganda from tumblr user dooblesdoodles that would be wild). It goes from an awful time to the three of them lying in the gardens in silence for 3 hours straight. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

A) it's such a popular hc that it can get irritating in certain contexts esp when people treat it as The Obvious (and therefore more correct!) Answer

B) it's often just a surface level interpretation based on. Big Boom. Which misses a LOT of what the Desolation is supposed to be abt

Ppl who dig into it from an angle of examining his feelings abt losing what he loves tho... they can stay. They get the assignment.

No yeah there's definitely ways to write it that turn out well, and I can respect that, but I also think it's just. A disservice to Tim's character as well? He's angry, but not sadistic and hellbent on destruction, he has so much more love in his heart than people give him credit for. Like people sometimes act like season 3 started and he became this Heartless Raging Force Of Destruction when he mostly just avoided people and was depressed. Hello.

But truly the most bothersome thing is that people act like I haven't thought about it before. I've seen people bring it up 1 billion times of course I've thought about it I just Politely Disagree.

(this is all truly not a big deal I'm just mildly annoyed on this tim stoker t. Wednesday.)

Tim is not an AVATAR OF it, he would be the VICTIM OF the Desolation, if anything. It would feed on all the worst parts of him that he fears letting out and fears others seeing. It feeds on all the anger of not being able to save Danny, all the things he things he should have, could have, would have.

Victim of the Stranger which taketh away, Victim of the Desolation which makes him lash out, makes him bury himself away in a hole somewhere.

He’s surrounded by death and endings and while he doesn’t love them all, he lets them was over him, and that’s why The End is the perfect fit for him
