My latest piece! Took a while to get this one finished but there it goes! All my love to the Organization XIII ☺️❤️
I can finally post my final piece for @disorganizine, I had the pleasure to illustrate Axel! So much fun, I love his silly face! Unwillingly ready to babysit the kiddos.
gotta keep the canon, lol.
fun fact: In the first version, Xion and Roxas were dressed differently, but I changed them because I’ve realized that I was portraiting the only charachters whose their vacation day was canonically showed in game xD. after all the efforts made to keep Axel’s messy room in canon, I sadly felt I had to adapt the kiddos too and put at least their coats on them.
I also did a set of emotes, my first attempt at merch. I’m always weak for funny expresions, but this time was…Great, LOL. I did faces so ugly to be amazing. like Xemnas or Xaldin. Oh, I love that xaldin so much. I’m so stupidly proud of these xD
and Roxas is such a mood. like, my actual mood.
I LOVE that piece you made of Saix holding the Nobody cup, it's so good! quick question: what kind of drink would Saix order at a coffee shop?
Thank you !
Well, I think he only takes strong coffee to be able to look after all the Organization’s duties. (Same in the AU thingy, ‘cause he sleeps a lot !)
some observations from going down a rabbit hole of japanese language xigbar yesterday
(apologies for the youtube watermarks. i got this clip from this video.)
[Video ID: a fifteen-second clip from a cutscene from kingdom hearts 3D: dream drop distance, with japanese audio and english-language visuals. it's the scene where xigbar tells sora that he's not going to wake up. end ID.]
keep in mind that this clip is just the japanese audio being played over the visuals from the english language release. the subtitles aren't a direct or literal translation of the words being spoken; they correspond to the localized dialogue that the english voice actors wouldve been given
- hōchū ōtsuka (xigbar's japanese va) and james patrick stewart (his english va) give, to my ears, pretty similar vocal performances. this is the case for pretty much all of the characters ive seen so far in my xigbar-centric explorations (roxas's vas sound nearly IDENTICAL). the notable exception being xemnas, whose japanese va straight up sounds like he's trying to talk without moving his mouth
- in the english dub cutscenes, the character animations often feel...floaty? disconnected? like, because they're not synced up to what the characters are saying and how, their gestures frequently seem random and unmotivated. in retrospect it's obvious that this issue wouldnt be present in the original language because that's the dialogue they would've been animated around in the first place!
- now that im actually watching the character animation with the dialogue it was actually done for, i appreciate it a lot more. its so expressive. smiles.
- at the end of xigbar's speech here you may notice him saying the phrase "tte hanashi." this is his japanese catchphrase! it means something along the lines of "so they say", "or so I've heard", et cetera. i love "as if" im a big fan of "as if" but i also love the idea of xigbar consistently undermining the information he gives and emphasizing how often he eavesdrops and spies on people.
- he says "tte hanashi" very very often. multiple times in most of his scenes that ive seen so far. way more often than the english dub says "as if"
- he doesn't say it normal like im pretty sure that's not how you say it in normal speech. like sometimes he does say it normal, but he always draws it out at least a little and often really draws it out, emphasizing it with some kind of gesture, like he does in the clip
- seriously if there's a moment in the games where xigbar says something while doing a cunty little gesture he is probably saying "tte hanashi" in the japanese version
- this is my new vocal stim. i can't stop saying it

Xigbar’s VA likes A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh, so I made some mock-up book covers :^) The left one is inspired by the copy of the book that James Patrick Stuart owns, and the right one is inspired by how the book looks in the KH games.

Hell of a challenger honestly though, really.
In Notre Dame Luxu would see Frollo and Quasimodo’s relationship and not like the similarity he see’s between himself and Brain—such as keeping them around so they’ll be useful later, lying to them (Brain still doesn’t know that Xigbar is Luxu), and don’t get me started on the clock tower with bells to signify the start of the (Feast of Fools) / (Keyblade War).
So Xigbar tells the kid to have fun, celebrate a little, kick back, don’t have your hat on so tight
@pscentral event 20: antagonists ↳ ORGANIZATION XIII PLAYING CARDS
ive seen it a billion times but i really can't get over what an excellent character design choice is to take a guy in a children's fantasy game who looks like a grizzled veteran dishonorably discharged from the army, give him a gun (understandable) give him a surfer's accent (excellent) and then put him upside down. and hes like the third most important guy in the series.
like just visually you've got this older man with a relatively normal face in a cast full of exaggerated anime men, great start, long salt-and-pepper hair that hasn't been conditioned properly, okay so he's not meant to be an Everyman in this wild cast or "attractive", even better, he's got an eyepatch, massive fucking scar, and elf ears, okay, we've gotten somewhere interesting real fast already. and then you give him guns. and he's upside down for no explicable reason.
and this is already like, 10x more interesting than the seventeenth bishie with blue eyes and hair that should be dyed and gelled but isn't or absolutely insane facial proportions if not the funny hair with Fantasy Sword/Scythe/Book/Sword Again and then he opens his fucking mouth and whatever you expect isn't there because.
it's a californian accent instead.
10/10, only note is that i wish the game could've given him a real gun instead of a fantasy gun but i can see how that would raise the ESRB rating and make it not nearly as funny to see this guy in a rated E disney crossover game.
Alright, so, Xigbar possibility breaking the fourth wall is definitely fucking with me. I think we all know about him hinting at knowing we reset to before everyone died from this scene:
But I decided to test something else someone had mentioned. The battle with Xigbar has different starting dialogue when you die and retry. When you defeat Dark Riku first and leave him as the last one, he starts his fight with ‘Let’s make this interesting!’
If you die after that and retry, he starts the match instead with ‘Alright, the hero thinks he’s ready now. Let’s make this interesting!’ This seriously gives me vibes of him knowing you’ve died and come back and I love it.
It’s also always fucked with me when he’d say ‘R for reload’ like the R trigger can often be used for but now it fucks with me more tbh haha
xigbar is sans undertale
whose bones do you stand on?
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been able to feel someone near me. Even when I wasn’t looking. Now? It’s just a bit more fine tuned.
Besides, they say when one sense is hindered, the others tend to pick up the slack - and my hearing was always pretty good to begin with, heh.
