kabru having major cute aggression over laios makes sense to me. he doesn't know how to express it so his thoughts first goes to "SQUEEZE HIM UNTIL HIS EYES POP."
people do mistake it as kabru wanting to beat laios up and it's like "no, that's when he annoys me. this is different."
was joking with @dimdiamond about laios having pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, mood swings, weird appetite) but everyone excuses it as "oh, laios probably ate something weird again. 🙄"
and it takes 3 months until laios and everyone else to notice that laios is pregnant.

there were potions involved. lots of them. they had the whole weekend to themselves and they were going to use it wisely. contraceptives were not on the menu bc they did not think this would do any lasting damage bc everything was supposed to be temporary and theyre still kidding themselves that what they have isnt serious, just an intense best-friendship with intense sex where they do not tell people theyre fucking. dont ask them why that means they wouldnt go put ye olde gutskin condom on jic
i cant lie i think kabru would be equal parts overjoyed and anxious about everything on earth like his tiny family is gaining a new member and his best friend is having a baby and he never saw the possibility that he could be a part of a family again when his whole life has been committed to trying to Solve Dungeons but oops! he knocked up the king!!! (is that legal...?)
meanwhile laios is like. laios also has intensely complicated feelings on this but is just shoving that shit aside to make room for the pure joy of having a baby and nobody can say SHIT about what they eat for months now

had a labru vision during work about laios pumping breast milk in the middle of the night while kabru is holding their crying baby bc the baby is hungry and they're both so so so tired bc being new parents is hard lol

modern day labru where they're that couple that goes one step and beyond when it comes to halloween. kabru likes dressing up and laios goes very extra on the decorations. on halloween night, they give out candy and spend the rest of the night watching horror films. they both criticize the hell out of the movies too, but don't worry, they're really enjoying themselves.
Im gonna be honest, i watched The Menu last night and all that been on my mind since then is getting a cheeseburger

@dimdiamond and i were going back and forth the other day on discord about laios and kabru's bedroom antics. it went from angst to fluff to humor lol
i was going off on a headcanon of mine that laios has a fear of not breathing/being choked, basing off what we know from canon (laios as a child getting choked by a ghost, him always protecting his neck and throat area, the forshaowing of that for the later chapters, etc.)
so, one night while laios and kabru are getting intimate, kabru decides to try to give laios a light choking, in a "heat of the moment" kind of thing. however, laios freaks out and pushes kabru off of him. the mood is pretty much ruined and they're both feeling bad about what just happened. it takes the following morning for the two to talk it out.
their solution to avoid something like that happening again are The Lists (tm). kabru writes down a list of things he's okay with and laios does the same. then, they exchange lists to each other, and write down edit notes on each other's lists and hand them back. they do this for days. it's like passing notes in class, but it's the king and his advisor/lover writing down what is okay to do in bed lol.
then laios forgot his list one day in one of the meeting rooms and marcille finds it. both laios and kabru are embarrassed when she holds it up like a dirty towel lol.
