this screencap is so funny.. buffy homophobic dog. shes like youre toxic yaoing in front of me now??
The Scoobies and Spike standing up for Tara is honestly one of my top BtVS moments of all time. Buffy saying that they’re family is everything to me as someone who is obsessed with the found family trope. Although the conversation is about Tara having demon in her, her being a lesbian only adds another layer. Queer people are often forced to create their own families of people who accept them.
I love you, Tara, and I love how the Scoobies make you feel accepted.

DAY 13: Horror television - BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1997-2003)
I will never get how Buffy’s OG love interest was a human named Pike who rode a motorcycle wore black and long coats.
If I didn’t know the movie came before the show, I would have thought that they were trying to do a parody of Spike. I mean, why the name/nickname Pike?
sorry but literally the first thing angel ever said to spike was "finally, a man! you have no idea how boring it is only sleeping with women. we can have some fun together" then took him on a date (wedding slaughter) but spike was so head over heels for drusilla that he did not pick up on any of angel's signals and was just like "well i had a really good time watching you murder people, it was really funny, and—no thank you, i'm not hungry—but anyway, i wanna go hang out with dru." and that hurt angel's feelings so he had spiteful sex with dru to hurt spike's feelings back. and neither of them ever got over it
can we talk about the fact that spike has no game, he's just hot?? he got his girlfriend because she saw prophetic visions of them being together, kept that girlfriend for like 150 years, and then started chasing after buffy like a sad (often drunk) wet dog. and he is not very successful! his lines are all ridiculous and he can't decide whether he wants to be a smooth seducer or a boy pulling pigtails on the playground. no game loser boy, i love you so
“I really did live and breathe Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I cared about Buffy more than I cared about my real life. And just having that consistency — when I was, like, 10, I watched the first season of that show while it aired, and was with it for seven years. And it was such a tool of dissociation for me. It was, in hindsight, I think, very much a coping mechanism for not being able to form the kinds of deep romantic relationships that other people can form when they’re an adolescent in the right body. I wasn’t in a place where I could open myself up to people, but here was this show that was so emotional, that I could have this relationship with.” -Jane Schoenbrun
