YES to grover not giving a fuck about the human's safety when the animals escape. that is so book grover. he spends the entire series hating on humans. no character arc no change in opinion just a goat full of hate for homo sapiens. i want more of that please

(aryan delivers this scene perfectly tho fr, his genuine disinterest in human's wellbeing, his downright cheerfulness at the chaos that the animals are causing, him basically going "well everything looks great to me!" when percy is like dude the PEOPLE???? absolute chef's kiss. dare i say, most book accurate scene in the show)

literally perfect. I love the dynamic of Grover taking on the responsibility to save the wild, and Percy taking on the responsibility to save all the people.

In all honesty, I don't think Grover would have any problem getting rid of people, the fewer people the better, he is brave and kind but mess with the wild and he will take you out. He cares about half-bloods, any of the love he has for humans comes from Percy. People matter to him because people matter to Percy.

Percy's fairly indifferent about the environment, because he's just an average teenage boy, and he's dealing with life-threatening crises every other week, he doesn't even know if he's gonna be alive long enough for a restored wild to mean anything to him at all. He cares about the wild because Grover cares about it.

The core of having best friends is finding yourself caring about something that you have never cared about before because it matters to one of the people you love most in the world.

something about fate taking the boy who has spent most of his life battling the lurking feeling that the people closest to him want to get rid of him, and giving him the most loyal and reassuring best friend who always tells him "I'll be here when you get back" giving him assurance that he's not going anywhere, especially not going anywhere from him.

something about fate making soulmates out of a girl who could only depend on herself from a very young age, who also had the responsibility of her brothers' and sisters' safety to think about, and a boy who takes care of her even at the risk of his own life, with the reassurance, that no one else has ever thought to offer "it's okay".

something about fate forcing together a boy who has been labelled a troubled kid, stupid, a failure, screw-up and a reject by almost every other person in his life, and a girl who never lets him doubt himself, his mind or his abilities, who constantly tells him "you can do this" with no misgivings about his greatness even when he doesn't see it.

something about fate connecting the souls of the boy who has never felt good enough, who has internalized guilt from an outcome he had little control over and carries it with him everywhere he goes, giving him feelings of worthlessness, and a boy who has never believed that faults or mistakes make you any less worthy of love or friendship, who has never hesitated to assure him that "it's okay, we're okay".

Grover and Percy’s relationship is so important to me and you can not imagine the way I giggled and kicked my feet when they opened their sandwiches and immediately traded the meat and cheese without saying anything to each other, like that was just a normal routine, they are so in sync, their SOULS ARE CONNECTED. im so excited for the rest of this show
